Every other FLying wyvern can fly, no matter how clumsy it is, save Akantor and his related brethren, which I believe is 3. Shouldn't there be another group for this guy? And with him being in Portable 3rd, you think he would be a fanged wyvern like Zinogre (they have a VERY similar body shape)Related content

Yes Akantor is grounded. However Akantor's overall body structure is highly similar to Flying Wyverns such as Tigrex and Nargacuga. More notable is their body posture which isn't far to how from Tigrex's posture. Actually it's quite possible Tigrex and Akantor probably shared the same ancestors long ago. Akantor is clearly grounded as mentioned, but Tigrex can fly, but how does it spend most of it's hunting and life cycle? On the ground. It rarely ever takes flight. It spends most of it's life cycle grounded. It would take hundreds of thousands of years to take notice but in terms of evolution standards, Tigrex's own wings will vanish. Still a Flying Wyvern that once had the ability of flight, but because it preferred land more than the sky there would be no need for the species to have wings. Akantor may of been a Tigrex millions years in the Monster Hunter Universe, but as time passed, the Akantor Species gene pool just decided to not have wings no more since the species no longer uses them. So does this mean Akantor should deserve his own faction? Eventually, however there's not enough change in Akantor to deem it anything else.
You also mention it could be seen in the Fanged Wyvern family like Zinogre, which I'm affraid isn't true. Zinogre is far different than Akantor because Zinogre isn't just a reptile, it's part mammal. If a creature like Zinogre existed in our world, it would be a literal missing link in evolution. If Zinogre were covered in feathers, not so much, that would make sense considering that was the route Dinosaurs took and then we got Birds to exist. But no Zinogre has hair and it's body posture is more canine than most Monsters in the Monster Hunter Universe. Akantor may walk on all fours, but he's more shall I say "Crocodile-like" where it seems when Akantor moves his body is low enough to drag, comparing to Zinogre it's limbs are upright, what do I mean by that, look at how a common dog stands on all fours, Zinogre's body shows no sign of dragging. So remember, just because it can't fly or show wings doesn't mean it's not part of the same family. Just like Penguins with common birds, flightless but still a bird in the end.

Seems to be more a taxonomic term. Therefore it is within the group of flying wyverns. But a flightless one.

This species probably secondarily lost the adaptation for flight? Actually, I've been wanting to conduct a pseudo phylogenetic systematic "analysis" on the big monsters and create a cladogram of some sort. Because why not?

Well Akantor existed before the fang wyvern species appeared it makes sense to change his classification but I doubt they will (mainly just laziness)
