Min-kyeong Oh is an associate of Baek-hwa Park, both employees of the South Korea-based IKKO B.I. South Korea borders a state they're still technically at war with, so the country practices compulsory military service for all individuals who are of age and have no inhibiting health conditions. (In 2033 this was extended to include women as well) As such, IKKO was founded in by a group of people who wanted to use the military training they already had for more money than what the government would give them.

The circumstances surrounding Oh's augmentations are suspicious - she has no documented history of injuries, so it's likely she paid a good deal of money to have the procedure done illegally, as any legitimate doctor in the developed world will cite removal of healthy body parts as a violation of the Hippocratic oath, even if to make room for a physically superior replacement. Now that cybernetic enhancements have become the new hotness, there have been plenty of instances of people purposely getting rid of their own body parts, mostly via staging accidents involving dry ice or dangerous industrial equipment.

What is verifiably true, however, is that Oh has a substantial amount of shares in the company, and has very nefarious ideas on how to raise their value... As Sundowner would say: "Think of all the good things war has done for us!"
