I'm back from New York City! Overall I had fun, and I got to see some cool stuff. On Saturday we were busy: we did the 9/11 memorial, Grand Central Station, Times Square, Hudson Yards, and we took the ferry from Lower East Side to my brother's apartment in Brooklyn. (The ferry was a major pain in the ass but the views of the city at night were nice). I also got clothes at a Muji, which I had never heard of before.

As for the ultra fancy $100 17-course omakase sushi, it was very good but also extremely unsatisfying. It really just made me hungry for my favorite sushi restaurant back home. Overall the food wasn't any better than the stuff I can get at home, or maybe my brother is an idiot and took me to the wrong places. Apparently there's even a place in my city that offers omakase, but I should probably give my credit card a break.

I'm glad to be home nonetheless. Since I wasn't there long we had to do as much as humanly possible, which isn't the best way to experience a city.

Anyhoo, I've been flirting with the idea of giving my characters flesh-tone prosthetics. I'm aware that definitely does undermine their original identities quite a bit.
