Description
Although I\'m usually a huge fan of self portraits, the last few I had done before this piece were huge disappointments in the end. I sat down to this one with dread.
In this piece, I worked with a very select pallet: cadmium red medium, quinacridone crimson, cobalt blue hue, ultramarine red shade, cadmium yellow medium, hansa yellow light, transperent mixing white and titanium white. This is one of the first times I\'ve relied on the primary colours to mix neutrals, and the darks in particular served to be quite a challenge.
