"Oh child, how could it be that you know naught the deeds, the power, the ferocity of the great Phasisun? He who hath grant us life upon the breast of his daughter? He is that which looks upon us each day with love and care. Surely you must have met his disciple, Greentree? The boy who protects the Keystone... He has met Phasisun atop the highest mountain, he has the Answer..." The old wolf's eyes look glazed. Mentioning the "Answer" had launched her into an entrancing wonder, a euphoria; so distracting that she had nearly forgotten to breathe. A winded gasp brought her back. "I must enlighten you!" She exclaimed wildly.

"Before us all existed Phasisun. He was a lonely star, and thus he traveled the great black expanse, searching. Searching for others. But as he found them, they each consumed the light of his body and outshone him, the other stars." She paused momentarily, as if the words were taking her back to a prehistoric time, watching the sun hurtle through space- "He longed for something to which he could bring his light, for the first time. And so from his stomach he spat the tiny planet, his daughter, Galean. She was kind, loving, grateful for the life she had been given. She fed from her father's energy and light, and so she, too, gave birth to life. To plants and prey and us. But Galean, too, was lonely. For her father always outshone her, and the life she gave was far too primitive, and so she pleaded a sibling."

There was another pause, and the old wolf's face grew notably darker. "Thus Phasisun granted her friendship and from his stomach spat the tiny Katel. Her brother, too, was kind, and shortly Phasisun grew envious of the company he provided his lovely daughter. Phasisun struck his little son and parted from him his heart, and so Katel grew cold and dark. And while instead Galean breathes life and whispers her secrets to the trees, the only thing Katel can dare to ask is, 'Oh, where is my heart?'. Lost, Katel ran endlessly around his sister Galean, searching for his heart, hiding in the day from Phasisun and embracing the night when he is gone."

A rattling gasp shook the old female as her eyes glazed again. The tale had left a chill in the air. Frozen, the old wolf sat with her mouth hung open, then suddenly moved again. "Be gone! Find the Answer!" She cawed. Her skeletal figure quivered, then slumped for the last time, lost in the memories and the images of the great tale of Phasisun.
