this, though, is a little different, not so much about line as solid form- the dark ground works and all in all, i think this is a really subtle, strong piece to be proud of. simple, but effective.

I did a version of this in oil as well. Pretty much the same thing, only bigger, which is why I didn't post both. Though now I think I like the oil one better. It came out darker, so it's even more about the negative space.

I've been meaning to comment on this, but I'd look at it for a few minutes and find that.. I don't know, sometimes things don't need words. There's just something about it that cradles that aesthetic fetus attached to your soul, feeds it.

WOW! this piece is so simple, yet so beautiful. i love the detail in her face and hair and contrast between her body and the bg. the composition really works for this piece, too. simply beautiful.
