Back in the day... I use to hitch rides with friends and family back home or other towns to have a little Spring Break fun.
My best memories were riding in the back of a 1970's black ford pick up truck to places like McAllen, Texas or squeezed into dark red Datsun hatchback to Lafayette, Louisiana.
I usually went with a bunch of sandwiches, refillable water jugs, and the promise of more food and somebody's couch to sleep on if I made it down to either place.
Plenty of times I spent most my trip trying to fix somebody's busted car, patch flat tires, or waiting for a tow into town.
Now-a-days, I can afford to travel. No fear of breaking down, catching rides in busted vehicles....just not enough time to actually make it back to my old stomping grounds.

Seriously, I don't know how I use to just have faith and just go with folks to far away places.. today I wouldn't dare. Too many people I'm looking out for at home and too many responsibilities just to cut loose and take off..

My guess.. I did enough in my youth to last me a lifetime. Enjoy your youth while you can kids..
