Description
FINISHED PIC: [link]HOW TO SCREECH ART: PUT FACE ON SCREEN --> BE A LAMPREY --> HERPADERP --> ART HAPPENS
anyway
this is basically how I normally do things.
Did this because I do get a lot of questions on how I arts. Many of them are on neo, and every time I do something for the art gallery there it's just
WOOSH FLOOD OF QUESTIONS
Tried to not make it wordy because honestly I don't even read the tutorials with paragraphs and paragraphs because ugh attention span. So tiny.
these questions are answered above but w/e I put them here too.
FAQ.
What program/tablet do you use? PS CS2 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD everyone thinks I use Sai. And I've always used Adesso brand tablets. They're cheap and durable as all hell. (on my second one ever and my first one didn't even break I just wanted a new one kdsjhkds)
What brush settings do you use? Depends on the pic but it's usually the generic round brush at 3 or 5 pixels. For lineart my brush settings are opacity-100 and flow-80 or 70, and I ALWAYS have pen pressure on. For shading opacity ranges from as low as 5 to 90. Hardly ever 100%. I really only use that one hard round brush. 8I
THAT'S ALL I CAN THINK OF RIGHT NOW
might add to this if anyone has any other questions

last question, do you colour your lineart by locking the opacity of the lineart layer? or do you just brush over it on a layer on top of the line one? I can understand the SAI misconception since your shading looks so soft and painterly, alot of people only seem to be able to do that through SAI XD

No I usually have opacity set at 97ish with pen pressure turned on so I can really get the full pressure effect. I very rarely have any other setting these days 8u

Ah I see, because on some of your other drawings it looks as if the lineart is coloured in someplaces, or is that just the colour coming through a low-opacity lineart part? if that made any sense at all >.>

I think you just made my shading technique four million times faster and simpler.
-miss I use a kajillion layers for reals.-
For some reason though whenever I try to select where I don't want to erase photoshop is like lolno and I have to do EVERYTHING by hand. It's so freaking tedious especially for tiny details like your moustachio here.
