I am home again after a week and some days absence, and a few thousand miles more on the odometer. I spent some time on top of a mountain, some time in a valley, and most of the time painting and sketching. I did a few acrylic paintings on wooden boards salvaged from a dumpster. This one is based on a few photos I took while learning to drive a dogsled and wrangle dogs a couple years ago.9"x13" acrylic on wood.

Anyhow, I am back again and have a few things in mind to work on for AnthroCon, some emails to get back to, a couple loose ends to tie up, and the time (and stable Internet) to start digging into a few of those Hogwarts badges. i myself can produce a decent work if one hands me paint, however it is not really my medium. My preference is to pencels and pastell.

I've seen this exact view before. When I was guided into an enclosure full of siberian husky puppies.
Dogs absolutly adore me. I think iI got more puppy licks then than I've had in the rest of my life.
Also I learned to put up my arm before the puppy slammes into you when it jumps.

Not many people will draw or paint pictures of animals in this sort of pose...and yet it's so brilliant to look at!
All the fur texturing is nothing to sneeze at either, and the same goes for the background.
All around, it's a great painting - just the sort that makes me feel I need to practice my own abilities. Extensively. And probably for a very long time.
