Description
"Life has become more complex in the overwhelming sea of information. And life, when organized into species, relies upon genes to be its memory system. So, man is an individual only because of his intangible memory... and memory cannot be defined, but it defines mankind."Day 97 complete. I had an extra couple hours to kill, so I got this complete. I'm really happy with how this one turned out.

Thanks
Well, according to the show/movies, this is actually just a poster image used on the cover for it, so the story behind it is kind of a mystery. The character in the beginning of the first movie is shown being manufactured in a type of factory, so my best guess is that this is like the testing phase, to see how her brain case has interfaced with the new body.
There's a number of other things that happen to her, that could warrant this kind of scene as well I suppose. But as for this specific one, I'm not exactly sure if there ever was a story behind it.

Someone should ponify that entire sequence.
Oh an btw, this is awesome, and you should feel awesome for it. I just had to watch the movie again after seeing this (not that that's a bad thing btw xD)

heh Well I'm glad you like it. It was an amazing movie, and a great series. I'm really looking forward to the new one coming out. I still need to see the other two movies before then though.

I'm guessing that one. lol
I wasn't sure when it was coming out, but I don't think I've seen any ads for it being in theater here. I'll have to see if I can stream it or something.

I'll admit i downloaded it. In my defence i'll say that that's NEVER gonna get to the theaters down here (south america, Chile). Still one can hope that maybe one day... xD

lol no judgements here. I stream almost everything I don't own. If I like it enough, I'll buy it in hard copy usually, unless that's impossible, then I just continue to stream it.

Same, I think it's probably one of the best written stories I've seen.

I don't know if I would really call the Major a sad character. She's definitely a complex one, introspective lone wolf for sure, but not sad really.

Well, it looked that way to me. However, I am not at all familiar with Ghost in the Shell, except that it exists, and probably inspired The Matrix (at least in part). I probably just thought it because of all the stuff they're hooked to.

Ah yeah. No worries, I definitely see why you might see that. If you enjoy sci-fi, I highly suggest checking out the first movie to get yourself into the series. It's my personal favorite sci-fi series.
The only thing left of her organic body is her brain. Most of the main characters aside from one are cyborgs in one way or another, but she's more so than almost all the rest. So she does have some existential questions for sure.

The last thing I watched with cyborgs was Gunslinger Girl. It was interesting, but very sad.
