yes this has a meaning behind it... yes the title gives it away...Still one of my favorite pictures I have ever done... however, I have always believed that skulls are too easy to draw, thus it kinda cheapens this picture for me.
Regardless, still nice to look at (the armor, background, bandana, and small details).

Well I looked at the competition get tighter and tighter, and I decided that my work just didn't cut it... so I had to make my work better.
So here it is... my piece with a background and effects!
The background took an eternity and a lot of pain to draw. But the result is quite nice.
I hope that this puts me back into the competition.
PS: tell me if the ash works or not...

How did this not even place in the top three? I can't find anything wrong with it, and the rest of it is spot-on for what the contest was looking for.
If I were only allowed to use one image to describe Gears of War, I'd use either this or the cover for Gears 1. That's how good this is.

Aww, that's very sweet of you. Tho I do like the top three that they chose. I think the reason it did make the cut was due to the fact that it might be misleading (with all the zombie and undead games out there right now). Like one comment I got said very well... 'unless you know the Gears of War franchise, this may lead someone to think the game is something different than it is.'
But don't worry, this contest has gotten be more watchers and views than any other piece of work I have done. I'm content. Thank you for the
