Description It's been described by some as "the other Machu Picchu" and in a couple of decades it will be easy to see why.
At the moment, the Incan city of Choquequirao has only been partially excavated, yet already the uncovered terraces look pretty amazing! You can reach the site after a couple of days walking, but the Peruvian government has plans to make a railway or even cable car to the top of the mountain, by which time it may be one of the main attractions of Peru. This picture doesn't really show much of the scale of the site, but that whats been uncovered so far is in pretty good shape!

The ruin area of the site is filled with a huge number of impressive stone work and masonry that is simply one of the most notable points about Choquequirao.
