Description
We are one but we are manyAnd from all the lands on earth we come,
we share a dream,
And sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian.
Man I love that song.
Something really quick since I have to go out tonight (hopefully won't miss the Opening Ceremony at 9:50pm or something) and wanted to do it before the official starting. But I just thought I'd do something relating to the Olympics since they only come around every 4 years!
I can't wait. I'm not a sporty person but I love watching the Olympics.

I remember hearning that song on TV... I was all like: Hey! I know that song! It's so moving... so uniting... oh, it's a Telstra ad.
Bwahaha. XD Anyway, I really like the smooth, bold lines you used here for the little character! Mostly in that streamlined body shape and the curved legs. It really is a pretty little drawing.

Yeah, so many ads tend to do that. xD I think fast food joints do that a lot? Not sure, I don't really remember these things clearly.
Ah, thanks heaps Ayem!

Go the Aussies!
This is quite a neat little idea, and a nice message too. I'm with you on the song-I think they were considering changing our national anthem to that a while back.

Woo!
Thanks heaps. It's kinda sad to see that it's ending tomorrow, but I'm definitely going to be watching the closing ceremony! I mean, it only comes around every 4 years and that seems like such a long time. Four years ago at Athens seemed like a long way away, even.
And really? I wasn't aware of that. It's an awesome song, but I think I'd miss our current one if it changed (then again, I'm never one for change like that). And it would probably spark quite an outcry from a fair number of people.

I think that's why they decided not to change it-too many people disagreed.
And I keep forgetting we had the Athens Olympics! Very sad, i know!

I love that song to, i have to sing it every time the ad comes on.
We Aussies are so cool.
I love the picture, it has that pride we feel when we win!

Woo, thank you! :D
The song always used to make me cry whenever I heard it for some reason, but the version on the ad's good.

Yeah, i always sing it with that pride, also signing it with Auslan...(since i'm nearly deaf)
Also that song...'My Island Home'...though i'm not sure if it is Aussie. Oh! how could i forget 'Come On Aussie Come On!'
XDD

I really like this. <333 a lot.
the simplicity of it is nice. :]
also.
d'you eat Vegemite?
I am under the impression that most Australians do. xD

Thanks heaps!
I do like Vegemite, but a LOT of people here hate it. xD You either hate it or love it, I guess. My entire family apart from myself hates it, so I don't get it very often. Only on camps and things where they're in those little packets along with the jam and butter. :P

xD mmmkay.
'cause I tried it at camp, and it was kind of.. gross. D;
then I tried mixing it with cream cheese and jello.
..it got steadily grosser. -SHOT-

xD Yeah it's kinda like olives in that way, if you get what I mean. It's like.. really salty, and strong? I can't eat a whole lot of it, I usually only put a small bit on toast.
And I can imagine why it got worse... though now I'm eager to try it.

Mmhmm.
Like, I don't think I could eat a Vegemite sanwich, but I might be able to eat a sandwich with Vegemite on it, y'know?
xD
I was bored.
food experiments ensued.

I loved the opening ceremony, even though I had promised to myself I wouldn't support this Olympics I couldn't resist.
I can't believe I watched the whole thing, it was huge xD Australia came near the end if I can remember but Portugal managed to come even closer. After one hour or such the only think I could think of was "end dammit!"
Ahahah.
I love this picture I think it portraits what the Olympics truly are.
Sorry for the long text xP

Haha yeah, my family were trying to figure out what order they were going by. At first we thought it might be the romanized Chinese words (pinyin) but then figured that didn't make sense since we knew Australia was at the end... and the pinyin still starts with A. xD So I dunno, stroke number or something?
I remember seeing Portugal go past. :D
Thank you! <3

Very cool. XD I've lost faith in these so called 'olympics' and I'm pretty against China and what they're doing there... so I'm not going to watch it 'cept little snippets where Canada competes in sports I like, probably. I watched little clips of the opening ceremony and felt dirty, but it was actually quite nice. XD;

Thanks!
Haha yeah, the opening ceremony was pretty neat. I can't believe I watched all the countries parade, ugh. Australia was right near the end. And I really liked Canada's shirts.
I usually only watch bits of events, actually, and then occasionally those that are pretty/interesting to watch. Then I just go over the medal tally at the end of it, haha. But the atmosphere around this time is pretty nice, in my opinion.
