~Waiting For The Beginning~

We have bodies that don't last long and minds that play tricks on us,
Sometimes the night calls and there's nobody home,
The space I occupy gets worried because there are no signs of life where there should be,
When the disappointment of others beat my resolve into submission,
I had a dream,
It was a kind of love that didn't break apart like ashes at the end of a cigarette,
While I was grieving I thought if I could find this I just might have something worth living for,
So I threw away the old to make room for the new (one of the hardest things I ever had to do),
Crawling away from where I am most vulnerable to look for what I don't know I am looking for,
I never learned to be alone and I'm afraid of the unknown,
I'd rather the empty room than see faces that scare me,
Intruders can't come in,

You will be beautiful,
I'll take your wings and know the freedom of flight,
You will show me what it's like to feel the ease of pain,
It will always be,
Even after we've been embraced by closed eyes,
There will be that moment where I know that I've made it.
