Description Goldie and her older sister Ruby, at the age they lost their parents.

Ruby is an idea I got after seeing the woman trying to steal Pothole's winnings in "Master of the Mississippi". She's blonde like Goldie, has similar thieving habits, and if you look closely you can see they wear the exact same red earrings, which I feel she passed down to Goldie.

thanks! and yeah, i took a closer look and thought, "this must be Don Rosa's way of telling us they have something to do with one-another"
he is the king of continuity after all!

I made up a sister for Goldie too. A much older one, like you did But she didn't look anything like Goldie.

Yeah, in my headcanon she also had a brother I often think of him trying to expand his story in my head.

His mother may have died when he was about 10-ish (disease, I'm supposing). He did mention her in that Barks story, and how she wanted him to be a decent person. So he had a decent relationship with her, but lost her too early. And I guess his father got mixed up in some bad business and they killed him. That's MY headcanon.

ok good, because that's pretty much what i had imagined as well. i had thought his father was involved with the slave-trade since that was a huge problem during that time, which is how he got killed.

i get really emotional thinking about how he wanted to be a good person for his mum but was made into an antagonist because of his need to be the best...i hate even considering him to be a villain v_v

Slave-trade is believable. All in all he wasn't a good example, and he didn't pay much attention to Flinty. Maybe at one point, he tried to teach Flinty his ways, but he was killed before he had any great success, plus Flinty was too young.
In the first Barks story with Flinty, he wasn't portrayed as this horrible and heartless villain - he just wanted to be the richest. Scrooge used dishonest means too, to be fair. So, I don't consider him a villain either, despite what Rosa and some other people paint him to be (hey, they need it black and white I guess)

yep, they're pretty much the same person if not, Flinty being the complete antithesis of Scrooge. Much like Rockerduck, i dont think Barks intended for them to be VILLAINS but more so just rivals.

That's true. It's just easier to make him completely evil than to explore his character.
