Description My first real try at lightning, i don't think it went too bad, just getting used to the focus. give me your thoughts

WOW this picture is amazing. Did you have to sit there with the shutter open in order to catch this shot, or were you just quick on the trigger? I wish I could get something like this on my first try at lightning.

Oh, also, were you inside or outside to take this? If you were outside, how could you protect your camera?

hehe i had a very very long lens so i was way out of the rain so i didn't have to protect it this time, and for a couple of shots i left the lens open but then you can start to predect when they are about to strike, well for this cloud anyway, it was like non i had never seen

, yeah, i donno, the cloud was so...different, it looked at the start like a atomic bomb cloud (mushroom cloud) and had lightning every 6 seconds, it really was amazing to watch
