J-Jack? As in my Jack? But that's impossible... How would he know where I live? I stared at the paper, still wondering whether I should take it or not. Something about it called out to me; before I even noticed it, my hand had reached out and now held the said paper. My hand was shaking like a leaf, causing the paper to make a bit of a rattling noise. I unfolded it, careful of what might be inside of it. Written in the purest of red inks, said," To my dearest (F/n): I know we have yet to meet, but what if I told you we could? Come to the abandoned church near the new Mall. Your friend, Jack." My eyes widened. I could meet Jack? But oh..... At the abandoned church? I still remembered what had happened before it was burned down; a thing my "parents" didn't think I'd know.

*Flashback, around the year 2000*

I watched, tears flowing out my eyes as my mother's funeral carried on. Dad told me she was sleeping. But why isn't mommy waking up? I remembered asking him. But today.... My auntie Mae had told me mommy won't wake back up.... New tears flowed out and onto my dad's shirt, which was already soaked from previous tears. I heard a soft sob escape my throat, and daddy patting my leg. Out of nowhere, I heard a shot, and daddy's hand stilled. More shots followed, along with screams. 2 people popped up infront of me, saying they're my parents now, before dragging me away...

*Flashback Over*

I shuddered at the memory, pushing it away. My brows furrowed as I considered going... Yeah, I'm going. And while I'm there, I'm going to visit mom. My real mom. I sighed, got out my (f/c) hoody, and a pair of black skinny jeans. I slid them on, and waited till it was time to meet my friend/slight crush.

*Timeskip to before reaching the Church*

I was jogging, trying to ignore the cold winter air that has started soaking through my clothes. My black-and-red checkered hightops silently slapped the pavement, and before I even realized it, I was at the church. Just looking at it's deteriorated frame caused a sharp shiver to run down my spine. I slowly walked through the gate, which looked like it belonged infront of a rich person's house. Except that it was rusted.... I listened to the leaves rustling in the wind, and their crunching as I stepped on them. I saw the door, somehow still standing on its own. I walked around it, and saw someone, presumably Jack. I heard him softly mumbling, and watched as he kicked up some of the ashes. I saw he was turning, only to stop when he spotted me. "(F-F/n)? Is that you?" I couldn't see his face for it was covered by a blue mask with some sort of black substance coming out of its eyes, making me feel a little anxious. "Yeah... Is that really the jack I've talked to so many times?" I heard him give a light chuckle, and slowly, he began walking towards me. "The one and only." We stayed quiet, up till he was standing right infront of me. The moonlight glistened off of the black ooze, and his hand reached out to tuck a piece of hair behind my ear. "(F/n), I want to ask you something..." I looked at him questioningly, my breath catching as his hand cupped my face. "Will you come live with me? So that I know your parents aren't... Hurting you?"
