Description
Since I have drawn Asterix and Obelix, and since I wanted to do something different, and because I have been reading some asterix comics again lately, I felt like drawing the Village Druid Getafix. Or panoramix as his original french name is.Getafix was created by Goscinny and Uderzo.

I don't read these comics, but it sounds like the writers were just phoning it in by coming up with the name "Getafix."

Well, here in France it's nearly impossible to NOT be into it. It's like a cultural thing.
We have animated movies, live action movies (who generally sucks), we even have a theme park !

I am more familiar with the animated movies based on the comics. My favorite was my first asterix movie, the one with the twelve labours.
And yeah, I call him by his french name Panoramix since they use that name in Belgium too.

Thats nice! I usually call him by the name "Miraculix" As thats the name used in the norwegian translations.

I heard of that one. I saw one pannel of that. They were invited for a 'small bite' by the belgians, only to show a 'small bite' includes a feast.

Yup! the story is that Ceasar called the Belgians the bravest of all the gaulish people and Chief Vitalstatistix/Abraracourcix can't stand it, especially when some of the romans who comes from Belgium and gets stationed in Aremorica claims that being in Aremorica is like being on vacation in comparison, so He, Asterix and Obelix travels to Belgium, in order to show the belgians that they are more brave, which leads to a competition between the two. In the end, Ceasar declares "I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE BRAVEST IS, BUT YOU ARE BOTH EQUALLY CRAZY!!!"
