It was still a little early for the foal to be born, too early for the staff to expect anything, and Tropic was still in the pasture with the rest of the mares when it came her time. It was night and it was raining but she left the rest of the mares and made the short but wet trek to the Amber Wood where she laid down in a dry clearing. Water from the rain was still dripping off her coat but she couldn't be happier when she finally became a mom for the first time.
