Description
Sometime back around 2015-2016, I had gotten it in my head that I wanted to try and make my own 2d sidescroller video game, having found a couple of tools that would give one more of a headstart at doing so than starting from scratch would have. To that end, I started brainstorming what I'd want such a game to be like and started making these sketches of what would've been the player character and his hovering robot companion (the plan being the player could switch control to the robot to reach objectives the player couldn't otherwise reach). Upon agreeing with my brother that the initial sketches bore an unintentional but notable resemblance to Crash Bandikoot, I started further tweaking and refining design so to fix that...
...and then just kind of stopped and moved on to other projects that, in the end, were of greater interest to me than trying to produce a game on my own. I kind of forgot about these sketches after that until a couple of days ago when pulling out the sketchbook they were in (not one of my usual sketchbooks) for use in new project and decided I might as well as scan these sketches in, so to see how much my scanner could grab of a single page in one go. Turns out, just enough to snag the whole page, though as you can tell from the darkening at the top, the scan gets less clear closer to the binding.
Anyway, a glimpse at what could've been for that little project.
