You blow me away with how well you draw in a cartoon style, and then turn around and draw amazingly in a realistic style too.

Well in order to make a successful cartoon you need to know how to draw realism. It's required in the field. x) Artists who only know how to draw a distorted reality have difficulty getting their characters to make sense. (and then the other artists and critics can tell)

Ah, I guess that would be me then. x3
Still though, you do great work and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the stuff you draw. ^^

All artists start out that way, nothing to be ashamed of. I only recently started working harder at my realism.
Glad you appreciate more than just my srmthfg work. Seems like a majority just wants to see that.

Oh good then. =3 Yay!
Cause you're so good at it, and most srmthfg fan art is badly traced screenshots on paint.
Honestly I'm trying to move on from srmthfg as well. It's a cool show but I would really trapped if that was all anyone expected to see from me.
I really, really love the way you draw dragons. Really, all your new stuff is very exciting to see. I just feel especially happy when I see dragons from you in my inbox. x3

xD I should draw more of them, but wish something else would come out of it rather than having it just be me drawing another dragon. Getting paid to draw them would be better.

I'm like two months away from moving to college and setting up my own paypal account. xD Once I do, I would very much like to commission you for a dragon.

Haha, okay. x) You're headed off to college at that time? It'll be my second semester at a 4-year college. I think I've been in school way too long and should be graduating next year like the rest of my class. But no, I had to take detours.
You'll have a lot of fun, I sure did.

Aw, thank you! I am excited, but I'm also kinda nervous too. x] I'll be in school 7-8 years though, so I'm sure I'll have lots of time to get used to my surroundings.
I didn't realize that art degrees were attainable in less than four years, but I guess it depends on the specifics of what you're studying. Are you going for a degree in a certain area? Or are you taking classes in the whole spectrum?

I'm only going for a Bachelor of Fine Arts which needs 4 years. We don't have the money for me to go for anything higher, but for what I'm interested in I think I'll learn more out in the world than in a class.
7-8 years is a lot, what are you going to study?

I'm sure you'll do great! I see people in the real world win stuff in contests for art that doesn't hold a candle to some of the pieces I've seen you and others here on DA do.
Veterinary Medicine.

Well good luck, I hear that field is very difficult and somewhat harder than learning the human systems.

I'm surprised we're not even going to touch hands in this class. They are extremely important and I'm still having trouble, but I keep trying to draw them regardless.

Well I'd suggest using a pencil so you can fix the lines. The problem is that the human forms are missing the right proportions which can be fixed over time with constant life drawings and anatomy books. Drawings of people and cartoons won't get better without a solid understanding of reality by drawing what you see instead of what your mind sees. I pay a lot of attention to the details of realism, so hairs, faint shadows, reflections and even blemishes will be observed. Taking a class could really help train your artistic eye and loosen your hand to give your drawings a lively gesture while keeping most forms in proportion.
Just keep practicing real life drawings, it's how I've gotten to where I am today.
