Description
Well, it's not specifically Halloween themed, but hopefully it's at least set to appropriately moody lighting.Tried out a whole bunch of different lighting, shading and glow effects here, on a pretty huge scale.
Any thoughts and criticism are welcome, especially if you think something could've been done better with the effect.
Characters are Reimu and Marisa from Touhou, and here it is on Twitter;

Idk if it's just me, but I really appreciate the thought you put into the tank's drips and bubbles.

Haha, glad someone noticed it. It's all about the small details sometimes.

I love the vibe, making me think of an alien space ship setting. Well done on the massive bodiesΒ

Thanks, glad you like it! I really like industrial settings for a "believable" way of getting them to this size, and the background tends to help with getting the sense of scale established.

Totally agree, The way I do things is while following the logic of "what would it look like if it ere true" I stay away from magic and such and I like the idea ofΒ designing devices, large scale industrial machines or buildings they've had to adapt for such a size.

You would think the one who rarely has much money would be the one who weighs more.

She's also the more lazy one though. I imagine in a competition Marisa would be the one who doesn't let others one-up her, even if Reimu would gladly take any opportunity to indulge for once.

Ah yeah, that is right. Forgot that was also an aspect to her character.

Dang that's pretty great overall, good job! It leads me to wonder who the other 12 subjects before them were, and how they got in that situation in the first place, though...

Thanks! Who knows, they've probably snatched a few unsuspecting victims, and as soon as it's an incident you'd have the usual heroes coming to fix it. And this isn't something they can danmaku fight their way out of anymore.

Yet they look strangely into it despite being stuck there for 27 days straight.

Thanks, most of them were surprisingly simple to do but still took a decent amount of time to polish.

Unit labeling fetish I never thought would be struck immediately struck, damn.
As for the piece, it's crazy good. Perspective, placement and proportion all help really sell the size, and while the green lighting choice is uncommon, you did it very, very well, though it lends itself to a somewhat spooky atmosphere, lol.
Also, the data readings are an amount of detail that I absolutely love, aha. This is an incredible one.

Yeah, seconding the data readings. Big guilty pleasure, those.

It's something that just came to me some time ago as a really good measure for this sort of industrial scenario. Which is also part of the reason I went a bit crazy with the size and background detail.
Glad the effect worked as intended though! My main concern was going too cluttered or weird with it but I like trying things like this out to give each blob piece its own feel.

Aw man, this is so much fun. I would probably have stuck with the blue rather than the green, but it's a great picture and anyone who doesn't click download for the full size is missing out.

The original canvas might have been about 15000 pixels wide, no resolution is enough to capture the size of these two. Always turns it into a problem of "how do I manage to fit a decent face into this drawing" when the rest of them takes up so much space.
As for the color, it's thankfully super adaptable! Just a couple of clicks, I'm sure we could even get the classic Youtube Windows Movie Maker rainbow effect up in here to give the two some entertainment.
