Description I was originally just going to show the colored Chainsaw Kid [link] but this jerk took me so long I decided I wanted more mileage out of it.

The Mortasheen Roleplaying Game book will have one colored monster for each of the monster classes, and I picked Garblob to represent the Garbage class.

Hahaha!
THis one directly caught my eye!!!
Very lovable, cute even.
Clear and nicely defined against the white background.
But I would love to see this creature in it's natural habitat.
Or to be a bit more direct; it would be even better with a non-obtrusive background.
Now the white really bites into the poor thing!

Great pic!!!

I honestly believe you have some of the best coloring and detail I ever seen. Are you going color all of them?

I WISH I felt the energy to start coloring all of my monsters, it fixes so much I don't like about the underlying drawings :[

I might start coloring them sporadically, maybe just monsters of particular note like the more "legendary" types at first.

Robot ponies- WAITASEC. U STALKER.
Hah. I keed, I keed. But you just made my day right there. And know what else has a cute face? SHINY TRUBBISH! EEEEEEEEEE!

I'mma get a job at an aquarium soon! I'll get to taunt the mantis shrimp and poke the isopods and piss off the gigantic lazy horseshoe crab that scarred my arm as a kid and pet the arapaima that scared the crap out of my mom and rant about how cute the wobbegong is (SHARKS WITH BEARDS!)and feed the two-mouthed piranha named Smiley!

a two mouthed piranha!?

What kind of isopods?

DreamPainterZ In reply to scythemantis [2011-08-27 14:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, he's an awesome piranha. He's been alive for a really long time too.

Deep-sea isopods, complete with adorable grumpy faces. They're not on display at the moment because there's a jellyfish exhibit right now, but I think deep-sea guys will be next. Also, there are SLIPPER LOBSTERS. GAH SO CUTE.

The story about the horseshoe crab goes as follows: I was 5 and this crab was swimming around in their little tidepool and I thought it would somehow be a REALLY good idea to stick my arm underneath and wear him like a bracelet with my arm still in the water. Dumbest thing I have EVER done.

Doesn't seem THAT dumb, petting zoos and touch pools I've been to have always had kids hold the horseshoe crabs D:

Coloration did wonders! The textures on this specimen are so inviting; if I didn't know any better, I'd want to touch it...

I did it all the most painful way possible....I colored all the flesh the same at first, then decided I wanted it multicolored and would lasso different portions to adjust the hue, or color right over them
