To be honest, that little Weird crying Fetus penguin man, while it wouldn't fit in mortasheen as it is now, might make a good Awful hostpital Cameo character
So would that thing on the bottom right, next to the coin. Some sort of worm infested lump of meat, kinda like Myiasis cube

Okay, I've been wondering this for a while, and probably should have commented on it sooner...
I gather from the older comments that associated with this entry there used to be some information about the Mortasheen world which has since for some reason been removed. Is that the case? And if so, any chance of that information showing up again somewhere? I'm really curious to know more details about the world of Mortasheen...

It's just changed so much that the original description here wasn't accurate anymore.
Everything will be explained again this October, though, in an extra-special way!

Ah. Well, definitely looking forward to that, then! I've been sort of starting to work on a Mortasheen-related project I was going to submit to your fanart gallery, but I was kind of wanting to know more about the world background for it... but eh, I guess I can wait four months. Just as well, in a way; there are lots of other things I really ought to be doing right now anyway...

Okay, I spent over an hour searching your gallery to find the sketch I turned into a Trilingual, to no avail. Then later I came here for an unrelated reason and found it. >_<
So when did you draw this? 2003?

Cool. The 5 I recognize have really mutated since then.
As for the others, expect to see drawings based on some of them soon. This deviation is a gold mine of ideas.

Wait (a third time)...
Do I see one of the Pocket Monsters?
Also, you need to bring back the dark humanoid with flipper arms and bleeding eye sockets. It's my favorite!

Do all of these have their own deviations? There are some I didn't notice when I looked through your gallery, like the sea cucumber and the transparent guy.

The transparent guy became Plazm, relatively unchanged. Most others in this old doodle were never used again though

The insectoids are made by "Brundelco Labs"? Like Brundel as in Brundelfly?

I figured that the public schools are training the kids in the fine art of monster making, as well as more traditional subjects, and that kids are just a lot more sloppy than their adult counterparts.

I'd like to say that I might make a piece of what I imagine Mortasheen as. Probably something like what would happen if Dr. Seuss was gothic and founded Coruscant.

That's a PERFECT description. It would be a blend of technological, decrepit, grim and cartoony.

The thing that saddens me most about the Mortasheen universe is that it currently resides entirely in your art and your mind. This concept begs to be turned into an awesome game and an incredible series of books. It may be a simple concept, and the apocalyptic is a common theme, but your world seems so complete that it's a tragedy for there to be so little evidence of it's existence.

I'd love to see the face of an unsuspecting child upon receiving their own toy version of one of your... less socially acceptable... creatures. Especially if it moved at unexpected moments. Or ate the family pet.
But seriously, Mortasheen deserves to become epic

Wow.
This has to be one of the best laid out concepts I have read in years. Not limiting, yet not completely chaotic in nature. Well balanced, well thought out.
Lovecraft would be proud

I might just like zombies and vampires now. Mad human disease, brrr.
Hm, the description of Mortasheen reminds me of Futurama with more gorey monsters. Do they have suicide booths in your world?

Most human vampires of course are also UGLY, like mythology intended. Like good old Orlock! Of course they do vary a bit, because you've got to have penanggalans and things.

It's as lovely concept, and I am entirely sympathetic with your problem as you aspire to make it an RPG.
I do know people in graphic design, who would be more than happy to take on something new...however, having really no precise idea of how big/vast/complicated your project appears to be (despite the love for the monsters), I think I'll just continue to watch you. ^.^
But definitely, kudos to you for this concept. I've always rather liked Lovecraft, and I think Mortasheen combines Lovecraft and pokemon in a most satisfactory way--the perfect blend of macabre and cheer, so to speak.

It's nothing really huge...I like sprite based graphics and simple but fun gameplay, something about as complex as the gameboy advance Pokemon games

Yeah. I love the whole idea of Mortasheen, I mean. O.o
I didn't mean to sound snobbish or anything on my last post...neh, that's why I hate communicating via Internet. So many things are misconstrued...
But yeah. Pokemon... -grins- Mortasheen would make a great game like that. Or something like Fire Emblem, I was envisioning...something multi-player. It's meant to be multi-player, I'd say.
Yeah. I mean, the people who work for graphic production are just as desperate as the people who come up with ideas. They have projects to do; finding themselves a successful client is how they'll earn their paycheck after all.
And with a well-thought idea like Mortasheen, you're /bound/ to attract someone out there.
