Description OC illustration of Caprice

Dress Design

Woo this one took awhile! She unfortunately got a bit caught between the mass of real work I have had to do.

Great reference material on this one! The dress and hair design were provided by the owner and my job was to convert it to vector. Base color samples were also provided. In a sense it doesn't get any easier haha. I made many modifications to the design but kept it very true to the reference material.

All of them! Jealous of the person you did this for. Jealous of your skill in creating it. Jealous of your ability... the list goes on.

Well just like your art I consider this practice! There are still a few things I need to sort out with character designs. As such just like your art again I want to get working on my expressions a bit more. I just get so detail focused and finalizing my illustrations take longer than the creation process haha.

Yeah, see? If THIS is what you consider PRACTICE...

Seriously, I couldn't get any of my art to look like this on a GOOD day!

Haha well I am using Illustrator CS6 and the variable line width tool is <33333. With outlines my usual rule of thumb is have balanced line weight across the board and on lighter lines always have them be half the width of the bold lines.

Also I have a pretty good general feel for 3/4 at this point. I started off with doing 3/4 because I didn't want to look like a spruced up pony creator haha.

Haha the overall design you had was quite cute! Oh and the design is open for download I forgot about that lol. Also Slench is next on the list!

Lol. Slench is awesome. He hasn't been in a very good mood today though. I tried to cheer him up with Pinkie Pie and it only worked for a little while. And honestly the only thing about the design that I can up with was the colors and the OC. came up with the dress. What is Slench wanting you to draw?
