Description

Felt like drawing a Protogen character because I've never done it before. Used my favorite colors of browns and orange. Left it at flat colors.

Decided to call him Tranze.

I like the detail work and the color scheme actually works a lot better than I would have expected... This has probably helped solidify my first fursona as being a protogen but first I actually have to commit to making one/actually making art for once.
If I had to make any recomendations on changes I think the legs are far too skinny, especially around the thighs. I’m not saying they should be thicc or anything but they probably should stretch out a good bit more. Almost like egg shaped. Also the armor looks a bit thin as well. And lastly the posing is just a bit stiff. All of that aside though the fur was done well, color scheme is really nice, and design choice for some of the minutia was excellent.
If I had to recommend a video to help explain my points a bit more I would say this one from imaginatively unimaginative

Seriously hope my comment doesn’t come across as harsh because its actually fine, I think its only a few tweaks away from perfection

Also to clarify the posing, since you are looking at a sterile environment its a good idea to make something a bit more eye catching, exagerating the positioning of the limbs would probanly make a good start. Bend the left ( his left) elbow up more, move the left leg back a slight bit, bend the right leg a bit, and move the right arm out more. Essentially make the stance a bit more awkward to give the pose a more dynamic look. Also I haven’t checked the rest of your stuff but I would like to say I think you should try adding some simple shading, pick a point far away from your character, imagine the light or draw rays towards the character if it helps, and draw some generalized shadows as basic shapes to give it more of a 3d look. Again, sorry if I am overstepping my bounds here, I just like art stuff lol.

Yeah I took a look a bit later, was a little tricky figuring out which ones were yours but the ones I found were shaded. I considered deleting the stuff I said but I figured even if it wasn’t necessarily useful to you it would be to someone else. Also as far as the stretched proportions go I think that might just be a case of not thinking of the volume of the 3d character enough. I try to draw stuff extra girthy and sometimes it looks too big but a lot of times it gives me good space for shading. But it could also be stylistic and that can be hard to tell. Also lastly I don’t really want to use a base because I am stupid and super picky about drawing and creating things from scratch with my own hands without a crutch even if there is nothing wrong with using one. I’m just really stubborn that way...
Sorry for the paragraphs btw and thanks for responding.
