Description
Facebook! BTS here soon!Went scouting for locations earlier today with the wife for this shot. I think this is my first levitation shot? And monochromatic ? Whoa! haha. Not a huge fan of levitation, because you do have to have the model posing on some type of object, then in photoshop merge the two images. Yet, it was still fun to do
I wanted to express some type of false reality, breaking through to find yourself still falling.
Enjoy everyone

It looks frightening, and it is so beautifully done.

Beautiful. Β A work very reminiscent of something by Magritte - and he is one of my favourite painters.

Certainly! Here's a gallery of his work:Β www.rene-magritte.org/rene-magβ¦
The reason I made the comparison with your art is that Magritte had a habit of painting people with their faces either turned away or obscured in some fashion. Β Ordinarily, I'm not a fan of the Surrealist movement, but I make a big exception for Magritte as there's something compelling about his simplicity and honesty.

this definitely /does/ transmit the uncomfortable feeling of a continued free-fall.
if i could make one comment though;
the shadows on her forward facing shoulder and forearm give a strange perspective. i know you know where i'm going here but still, excellent concept.

Thanks man!! That is true about the shadows. I was kinda going for two light sources, one from above and one from the left side diagonally, if it doesnt match, I guess I'll go with it being more "surreal" LOL.

lol...i was actually going to say it gives it a surreal quality, if that's what you were going for
but i saw where you were going...still an awesome piece.
