Go love the amazing Muley and keep up with his shenanigans with her from this point on wards!
So without further ado, i present Crown Prince Donnaghán of Glenmore.
_________________
Since he was a fawn he remembered this place capturing him, offering him a rare moment of peace and joy as he discovered the tree’s secrets. The curve of a root that offered a cave a fawn could sit under, the nooks in between two roots that could hold precious object he found while wandering, the sweet grass and mushrooms that thrives in the dappled sunlight and the spongy moss, a perfect place for an exhausted fawn to rest until his mother managed to track him down. Reaching down he touched his nose to the root he had once made his cave. With a sigh he stepped over it.
The soft loam of the soil and debris that littered the base of the tree tugged at his hooves as he picked his way around the giant roots towards his favourite spot. He had left his guard in the next clearing, wanting to spend this brief time alone. Pausing he looked up. The vault of the branches and leaves that made the Great Oak, the heart of the Glenmore kingdom soared above him. It was too high to see the leaves, too high to see the animals living within its sheltering branches. Flicking his ears he closed his eyes.
He drank in the rich earthy scents, the must of other deer here before him. He heard the song of the birds as they worshiped their newly risen Sun god. Turning inwards, as he remembered his father telling him to do the few times he had been brought here to connect with the tree, he felt the pulse of his heart, the slow rhythmic beat of life. Not listening, but feeling, he recognised the steady throb of the magic that seemed so ingrained in the ancient tree. It was said after Óganach created Earrann, that he grew so weary walking the earth he lay down and the tree grew from his antlers. The slow throb in the trees power seemed endless, unshakable, and Don did not doubt that it had stood sentinel over his ancestors.
Something snapped behind him.
Opening his eyes he turned towards the sound, relaxing as he saw some does walk into the clearing. No doubt Eugene had failed become distracted and failed to stop them from interrupting him. He would be reprimanded for that. He huffed out a breath of frustration, the feeling of calm and peace the tree gave him fading fast. As more and more fawnling’s entered the clearing he gave up on reconnecting with the tree. He would come back soon, at a quieter time, or after a firm warning to his guard. He shook his head, tail flicking with annoyance.
As the Crown Prince distractedly moved away, only the tree bore witness to the tiny curl of green that remained, weakly bending sideways without the support of the leg it had grown around.

Name: Donnaghán
Pronunciation: Donna-han
Meaning: Dark
Nicknames: Don, your Grace
Age: 15 Years
Gender: Stag
Breed: Fawnling
Height: 12hh
Build: Medium, he is an elegant and refined Stag, powerful yet agile. He has very short dense fur and a thick beard of neck and chest fluff that extends to his stomach and almost envelopes his short mane. His tail hair almost joins from tip to base and is thick and straight and he has light feathering around his hooves.
Colour: Liver Chestnut
Genotype: ee-Ata-nZ
Bloodlines: Son and heir of Ragnar the Red, King of Glenmore and Niamhe the golden
Offspring: Many, unknown and unrecognised, out of common does.
Temperament: Proud, independent, cunning and self-centered. Don is Loyal only to his Sire, his Kingdom and himself. He lives for fighting, mating and being the center of attention. He can be a selfish ass when he wants, but don’t think he is a bad Prince as he takes his heritage VERY seriously. He also has some daddy issues and craves recognition and love from his sire, which drives his obsession with being the best. He is intelligent and can be an excellent conversationalist if he thinks you worthy, or he wants something from you, and can be very charming and persuasive when need be. He however, can also make you regret meeting him should you cross him. He doesn't trust easily, and always thinks people like his title more than him, and don’t even think about love, you will be sleeping on your own ten minutes after he woos you.
History: Don was born into the royal court of Glenmore, and with it came the intrigues of the upper class. His sire the King was an absent father and he was raised by his mother who was a beautiful and vain social climber. His only real role models were the Stags set to guard him and his siblings. When he came of age his magic emerged, causing the glade he and his mother resided in to bloom and grow lush overnight. He was the oldest of the Kings male offspring to inherit the earth magic and was named Crown prince. Since then he has been groomed to take his Sire’s place and ensure the prosperity of the kingdom. He has been trained by the guard in combat, tactics and duty. He spends most of his time striving for acknowledgement by his sire, through combat, popularity and intelligence. His one constant companion and the closest thing to a friend he has is his Guard Eugene who remains his constant protector (not that he needs it too often).
His mother still tries to use her son’s position to climb the hierarchy in the royal does and it has resulted in his dislike and estrangement from her. He now spends most of his time patrolling the herd lands, sparring with his guard and wooing does. He is a known lover of the gentle sex, and sees it as part of his duties as prince to expand the herd and infuse the direct bloodlines through the herd to ensure its strength. He had the royal princess promised to him to be the first doe in his royal harem that would bear his legitimate offspring and the future king after him. He leads by example and is often found at the center of any event, providing the kingdom with a face to put to their Crown Prince.

Very interesting character, and a beautiful painting.
I love the perspective Don gives - it makes the tree and clearing look huge, and I really love your take on the Great Oak of Glenmore. Rue's story will eventually lead her there for answers, and I think this has just replaced my previous mental image of the place. I just love it.
Amazing work
