Description
So I used to draw and upload at one point in time....

As always, I am not sure yet if I like this. I just finished it so I need my eyes to adjust to it. This is an illustration for Lycan-queen88.

Man this was a difficult illustration. It was supposed to be a white werewolf at night of all things. I was given a reference but as always I like to complicate things and so I decided to show more of her body. The angle nearly killed me. So many times I got to a point were I thought I was happy. Then I decided to compare it to the previous image to see how far I have come and how much better I made the image only to discover that I made it worse....I am talking really bad. There was one version where her boob was bigger than her thigh..

There was a couple of things that I wanted to do with this image. Because I am not good with creating from imagination and doing that in color, I figured that there was an opportunity to learn something.

Lets start with color:
I usually try to do darker colors in shadows and lighter colors in highlights but I needed to do something different with this one. I wanted to take inspiration from the likes of z--ed and Angelganev and the like. It was almost like a culture shock trying to apply brighter but deeper colors in place of shadows. I could not get myself to commit all the way but I did like the results and want to try experimenting in the future. The one thing that I wanted to be mindful of is the consistency of color. Having color schemes across your artwork. I have fell into that trap of having your character one color and your environment another and having both not feeling like they belong in the same image. Fyi, her hair was supposed to be white. She was supposed to be based off of the character Wanda from the marvel series. She has red hair and so I wanted to experiment with using red for her hair.

The environment:
The environment was also difficult. I get lost in the "inbetween" details. Lost as in I do not know what to do. I can draw a rock and a small hill but on the flat land inbetween I find it difficult to fill the space. The same happened with the character and applying fur. I can add fur on the edges of the arms and legs but the inbetweens and the stomach area confuse me. I have tried to go for a abstract sort of...not sure how to describe it but like a disruption of colors to create something interesting out of the nothingness. I have seen many artworks that have the same and I wanted to apply it myself. I quite like the disruption in color that I was able to create for the grassy area.

The body:
Another culture shock was the fur. I am not too good with anatomy but I am at least good enough (although this angle that I decided to draw almost killed me. I used sooo many references but there is still improvements that need to be made. The ribs and stomach area were a true pain. Her boobs as well. Had no idea that trying to draw a boob at an angle caused me to get violent   ). But the true struggle came in when I had to apply fur over the anatomy that I tried so hard to get right. There was a lot of convincing that not everything needs to have super details on it. Which was actually something that I applied to the background. I do not usually go for a blurry type of artistic style but I did this time and I am not mad at the results. Fyi,trying to create a hairy boob is more tricky than you think. Not a sentence I thought I would ever type but here we are.

I also tried my hand at doing a white haired version of this. Will upload that after this one.
