Description
I honestly have no idea what category this should be in. If anyone has a better idea, please let me knowSo - this was the Christmas present for my mom. It took me 2 weeks of on and off working to do it. I know it's not that spectacular, especially if you think about all the time it took me, but somehow I really like it. And I think that's mostly due to the fact that my mom loved it (at first she thought I bought it
I gotta say this prove to be quite challenging for my patience (but I do seem to have a lot of patience sometimes). The hardest part was the fact that the wire kept breaking. It was so frustrating when a big branch broke or I realized it won't be able to hold the weight. At one point (after having to redo a big piece twice and it still kept breaking) I literary started crying. I was so frustrated and I started thinking I wouldn't be able to do it. I actually put off other presents and even school work, just to finish this.
But in the end it was sure worth it.
I think I'd like to do another one just to prove myself I can do better (I saw so many beautiful ones on the internet) or for another present. But this is surely something I can only do for someone I really care about. Don't think I'll ever do these to sell them, due to the huge amount of time involved.
A few facts: about 150-200 grams of 3 different types of beads (crystal, silver-lined transparent and with shades).
The wire i got from my dad (some spare electronics
The pot was bought from Daiso and the stones are from my grandmother's garden

Dupa parerea mea a iesit foarte bine, adica eu cu siguranta as cumpara asa ceva daca ar fi facut de tine, e superb. Ma bucur mult ca la fel i s-a parut si mamei tale.

*hugs back* You should do a tutorial, I would never figure out how to make one on my own. ^_^; I mean, it's the perfect plant. It's really pretty, catches the light and is shiney, and never requires watering! It's a plant I can't kill! XD

Hehe, yeah - sometimes plants can be quite picky ( my cacti are getting a very weird disease and I have no idea what I should do)
There is actually a tutorial on how to do this (I followed it, even though not exactly): [link]
Hope it helps
I used very thin wire so I could only make small branches or else they start to bend.

I think you did a great job, and I wouldn't have ever guessed that this is your first wire/bead tree! I love the different colored beads you used. The whole tree just looks beautiful.
Ok, so let's talk about wire... what kind were you using? What gauge? Your wire was probably breaking because it was too thin for all the twisting. I don't know what's available in Croatia, but I really like wire from [link] . For trees like this, I would recommend 30 gauge (maybe 32 gauge). Parawire is nice and strong, comes in a lot of different colors, and has a nice soft feel so that it won't hurt your fingers. The other thing you could do to cut down the breakage is to not twist the wires quite as much (I don't know if you twisted them really tightly, so this might not even apply to you).
Anyways... awesome job! You should definitely try another. Watch out though, they're addictive!

Thank you so much
I had a lot of green beads I couldn't find use for (it's not really my favorite color)
The wire is a special issue around here, since there are no craft stores (BTW - I live in Romania ). The beads I got from an online store. These however only have 0.3 mm wire - around 28-29 gauge, as far as I can see. I'll try this one, but I'll keep looking. It doesn't seem to be worth placing an order from abroad just for this
