Some flickering here and there but I can count those times on one hand, and I've been stationed on this rock for over a decade. I'd wager that at least a handful of surveyors truthfully made their way to the base of the structure but the reports are still conflicting as to what they saw. This is probably due to its sheer size and varied topography. In the end, the only consistent data was the ever present light and it generating a viscerally 'sickly' glow. Most teams packed up and left after a mere few days as members grew quite ill from combined bouts of nausea and insomnia.
