Another tribute to another one of my favorite restaurants. This one is called Double Tall Extra Hot.It's funny. People always give me a hard time and say "Dude... you live in Europe. Why do you still go to Starbucks?" It's hard for some to understand that growing up in Seattle, I also grew up with Starbucks and regardless of where I go in the world, for some reason it always makes me feel at home. Plus it's the only place to get customer service here.

Those people are making the mistake of conflating "going to Starbucks in Europe" with "going out to get good espresso" -- the first may sometimes get you the second, but the second will never get you the experience of the first unless you actually go to SBUX. There are other places (regrettably also chains), especially in London, and there are local places that happen to work out, but ... there's nowhere quite like the place with its natural home in the land where (in theory) Customer is King

Did you hear about all the Washington coffee huts that have been in the news because of almost naked baristas licking whipped cream off of each other for tips? It was quite the scandal last year.

Sorry I missed it. That's funny though, I actually had the idea about 20 years ago to start a coffee stand with strippers as baristas. I should have taken action earlier on that idea... oh well... another check mark on the "live and learn, get your shit together and take action immediately" wall.
