This is an exalent tutorial! There's only on problem, when I try to colour with colours other than black, gray, or white, it turns the colour into a shade of gray! Can you help me?

when you make a new document make sure you select RGB color not Black and White ^-^

Just one more question, can you change the setting of the drawing so you can colour it? Or do you have to redraw it?

Me likes. :3 I think I'll have to try using the magic wand, contract, and inverse combo more often. It will save many brush strokes on my end even though most of my art is line-less cuz I suck at outlines. x_x Nice lil tutorial. :3

AGH! I needed this soooo badly. I had (and im still a bit fuzzy on the details...) no idea on how to color without coloring the background? I also have PSE and I'm sooo confused. I coudn't figure out how to group the layers... But now i know!
Just a question. What does the whole Select>Inverse>Modify>Contract thing do? does it have something to do with selecting the inside of the outline of the cat and filling it white? Sorry, probably a dumb question

no not a dumb question, accutaly i was thinking that i should have put somting about that. When you select the outside of the line it selects everything AROUND the area of the dotted line. when you inverse it you it turns the selection to everyting thats not selected and unselects the stuff that was selected before. does that make sense?

because then it selects all the detailed junk in the inside too, not just the outermost line, were you want the coloring to stop.if that makes sencse

Well, so far the inverse way to do it is working fine for me, its soooo much easier then eraseing everything when i go over the lines! D8<
