First 3D character animation ever, n I'm proud of myself.
BTW, it was an ANIMATION assignment, we didint ahve the right to modelize anything, onkly primitives... and the character was given to us.

Maya is the best software for animation. 3D animation by itself takes a bit of getting used to.

Very nice for your very first animation. The movement is overall pretty fluid, although there is some popping with the characters movement. Not bad at all though. The setting however, ie: black background and dark blues/purples, make it very hard to see exactly what is going on. Good stuff though. Keep up the good work!

Exellent men, i am 3d animator too, i like very much the flow, the only critic i have is that in the begining
the stick or sword is to static, but the timmi,g is amaizing.

dude... it's a stick stuck in the floor... I'm gonna make it wiggle ? Explain, I want to know what you mean, cuz i dont get it.
π: 0 β©: 1
Vamif In reply to Sebbythefreak [2004-10-21 00:01:51 +0000 UTC]
oh, well, i was thinking that the stick was in his hands, not im the floor, was my mistake, but I also think
that a litte of exageration could be exellent, like in the moment when he remove the stick, try to make the stick more like a curve, this give to the movent a lot of life, and meaby also a small flexivility to the stick in the moment that he is struck for the first time, also like in to a curve.
Well, this is my way to animate, i love the exageration, but i really think that is a good idea try.
is only an advise, in`t a master. I going to put a few of my animations if you want look, some of them
are not to bad, (is a flour sack, is incredible hard to animate, damn teachers, but it also fun.)

yeah, but i diditn ahve the right to "modelise anything, i only ahd the rght to scale objects. Since it is only an animation coruse. and I had to amke something that fit with the music. I lvoe exageration too, look at how he crouches at the end... that's pretty ahrd to do
And my timing could not be more exagerated XD

What program did you use to make this?

The usual Maya 'cept they re-bought the whole batch for Maya 6.0 Complete O.O and next year, we'll ahve ANOTHER room full of even FASTER computers with maya 6.0 UNLIMITED! We're feeling like spoiled princes here.
But thanks for teh comment ^^ It was hard work, but I ahd so much fun doing this!

Wow, very nice. The animation is very human and very fluid. Perhaps later on you can apply the other models you've been working on to an animation such as this one?

Of course, but that'll be in a few months. I still ahve to learn how to rig animation skeletons. Did dude was pre-made for su to us ^^
Man, I love this "job" I'm totally at the right place for me ^^
