Concepts for conversions.Kroots had always been my love, being feathery lizardmen and even better, genes eaters. I always fucken loved gene eaters like gene stealers, but i didint want Tyranids. That, and humans xD I like humans D:
But like... the thing is I hate their "kroot codex" and I don't wanna play Tau neither... so...
AND I never can decide what army to start to play with.
So I figured... Kroots... that "count as" something else xD
The biggest fun I have with WH40K is doing conversions anyway, not playing the game itself XD So I could make a awesome army for myself, and sell mercs to other players who'd like some badass rogues squads.
So in short, my concept is a bunch of rogues mercs/pirates/whatever, mostly comprised of Kroots, but also humans and whatever renegades of other races might join in. so there goes my "who to play?" question. play them all
Pretty diverse.
Left : Imperial "veteran guardman" count-as
Right : Eldar Guardian count-as
Bottom : Whatever plasma-pistol wielding unit

Iβm work for FIREBASE, the webβs leading 40k magazine with over 120,000 regular readers.
We'd like to redesign our recurring character who appeared in the early issues as a monkey with a machine gun. Maybe you remember the Jokaero from 1st edition? They were monkeys with guns. Anyway, your quirky character designs have grabbed a lot of attention, so you're my first port of call.

Although I had never heard of the Jokaero before, I've went in and did some research and I'm really enjoying their (limited) fluff and well the total lack of artwork means I can go a little crazy on the designs = D
I'd really like to see the previous renditions of your recurring character however, as I couldn't find it in your PDF link (I did however find what I think it is, in the firebase issue 1 pdf-page 44). And... didin't the last page of issue 3 say that FIREBASE was now dead? (Although I noticed you guies were on issue 5)
Out of curiosity, is this paid?
And, what's the deadline?

As this is a free downloadable magazine, there is no money.
Heck, I started it and I only lost money. It's for the love of the hobby!

I've seen some Imperial guard armies using Tau or Orks mixed in...The kroot are a very cool race, but I don't like to field them with my Tau for some reason ><.

Yeah, it's really lame how the Kroot are the weakest when with the Tau, the Kroot Merc Army List is much better =/ (with that said, my Kroots don't even count as actual kroots although they couldxD)
As far as Sci-Fi go, aliens with gene-stealing abilities have always been my favorites, then came the robots, the bests are the genes eaters with robots, and that's what I'm currently doing, so it's gonna rawk!!

Heh. The "count as" armies are always great. I was actually thinking of doing a separatist Space Marines army (not Chaos, Chaos hunters in fact) with converted Lizardmen units for scout squads, bike squads, etc.
Anyway, the "counts as" Kroot could turn out pretty cool. Can't wait to see more.

Well from what I came up so far, my raider army of tech kroot and random humanoid marauders will be a Dark-Eldar count as
You know, the D-A game style and units are pretty awesome, it's just that the minis totally suck. But space pirates/raiders/do-no-gooders and looters would make a great converted army = D
Speaking of which, I just finished ordering the bits required to start it.

oh, I didin't write it here, but on the WH40K forum I post my stuff, it was part of the original idea.
I'll try to make a conversion outta a space marine bike and strap it to a missile or something. It's gonna be all Orky-like that's for sure.
I took the Dark-Eldars as a army choice simply the whole army is on skimmers, I'm a total spead freak (hehe... speed fweek)
I also considered the basic eldar, because of their Jetbike as a troop choice though (and the new plastic Wraithlords are fkin' awesome, whatever army i take, i'm gonna get a converted one that's for sure)
And well, there's no way people would accept my stuff as a space marine biker army count-as xD
