Description
Two quick sketches I made of Heavy Gears, one of my favorite robot design. They're copywrited by DreamPod9, a french-canadian game company. Heavy Gears are based on VOTOMS concepts and were invented back in 1994 and had good success in the tabletop and pen and paper RPG world with a efficient multipurpose, realistic and lethal rule system, that handled wargaming and classic Roleplaying perfectly well. That, and being the first mecha RPG.
The fluff is great, too.
They just made a new tabletop wargame, and it got me interested in the universe once again.
Individually, these drawing sucks, but together i guess it's worthy of a actual deviation rather than just scraps noone will see.
a northern and southern, unspecified, generic Gear.
I think it's obvious they've been a great deal of inspiration for me and a base on which I devellopped my own style...

Generic or not, I really dig these designs, especially the Northern one. With smaller "shins", I think the Southern one could really stand out amongst the rest of the South. Looks like a competitor for the Iguana, to me, or maybe a slightly larger light trooper.
Anyway, love them.

Oh crap-muffins! I had completely forgotten about this. There used to be a show way back when too. Ah, the memories.

Heh, it's not much attention grabbing anymore with all their licensing fiascos... It was on a good start but many bad decisions along the line nearly killed the franchise. It's just slowly reviving.

1994 right? 40k came out in 1986'ish. Tau were introduced at the turn of the 90's as a ranged players dream.
But 40k ain't suing and neither are they. I'm just leaving it there.

The one on top is yelling "You ate my ham sandwich!!" and the one on the bottom is hiding behind a few buildings..."I didn't know it was yours!"
Nice work!
I always thought Heavy Gear never got the respect it should.

No.
The show sucked beyond belief.
It's a mind rape... how can someone rape such a franchse is beyond me, but it's even worst than Uwe Boll work.
