Description
Thinking about putting together a resume site on my server and have my characters "host" the site. They'll be doing poses and such to show off aspects of the site... if I can get the will to do a couple of colored drawings of my different characters that is.They (characters) would be hosting both my programming and art web portfolio. It could be a career suicidal move to go and incorporate cartoons into my programming site but hey! I would really like to get a job one day doing both programming and art.
I dunno it's still in the concept phase. What do you think? Bad/Good idea?

Personally, I would keep two separate resumes to show. If there's a chance that you can include your artistic abilities or creativity as a selling point or an added bonus, then show something with your critters. If the job you're applying for is a little more by-the-book or you're worried that they might think you're going to quit to do webcomics, then show them something a little more conventional. It's a great picture, and I'm sure there are some places where this sort of thing would help out a lot. I would guess that smaller businesses would be more inclined to take a 'two-for-one' deal, as it were. I hope that's helpful, and best of luck!

Great advice! I've had several people recommend that I figure out a way to make both a proffesional site and a "fun" site showcasing programming with art. I think I may try that. thanks again!

No problem! It'd be nice to only apply to places that'd be more interested in both talent sets, but sometimes you have to go into a normal job and work the creative aspect in yourself- handle stuff they didn't know they needed.
If you know any animation, that'd be another nice thing to include. Even if it's just blinking, a little bit of a gimmick goes a long way in my experience. I'd offer to trade my own animation skills, but that'd sort of defeat the purpose of having a resume. XD

That would be great for those who are looking for a person who has creative talent like yours.

Heh, heh... he seems very cheerful!
Seems like a nice idea - it might be appreciated by a cartoon company... someone looking for a guy who knows his program code and is creative!

Yeah and I hear it's relatively rare to find someone that can do both!
