Description [update] - Holy Cow!  I didn't realize how light those sketches look on other monitors!  On some monitors you can barely see the sketches, the monitors I work from show the sketches fine... but I didn't take into accounts other monitors.  Apologies for that!

I love sketching with Manga Studio 5. Taking a bit to get used to but.... LOVE!

Oooh, really liking those alligators! I'm liking the meatiness in the bottom right corner one especially.

Now, in terms of Manga Studio 5, what would you say it's good at compared to, say, Photoshop? At the moment I only really have just the Photoshop CS5 on my computer but I'm hoping I can get more on here just to improve my digital art.

I've used Manga Studio (had 4EX) for years now for all my sketching and inking needs.  While Photoshop is AMAZING (I have CS6) for adding colors, details, painterly effects (charcoal, water color, etc) I feel it can't match Manga Studio's prowess for sketching and applying amazing inks!  I simply love it for inking and sketching.  I used to use photoshop primarily for all my work.  Now I do nearly everything in Manga Studio and primarily use photoshop to color in the picture/finish it off.

If you are looking for a great inking/sketching program then I can't recommend Manga Studio enough.  So you also know, it's meant for manga/comic books and can run the entire gambit from start to finish; I just use it for sketching/inking though.

Oh, that's wonderful to hear! I love Photoshop to bits (most of my artwork is color of course) but the one downside to it is that it's not the best of programs for inking so it's hard to get the line weights you desire unless if you treat your lineart like a "painting" and paint the line weights in...

Glad to hear about this. Will definitely have to check this program out now!

That's funny... I just purchased Manga Studio myself (Although I'm still waiting for the package to arrive).

I used manga studio 4ex for years and have always loved it. This new version improves upon an already great base. If this is your first time using manga studio I think you'll find it awesome!
