Time passed in the Desolate Isle, and soon, Itanya had her cubs.
She smiled proudly, looking at them. There was a son, and a daughter.
Itanya wanted to wait for Damu to arrive before naming the cubs, but she couldn't help it.
She named the son Lutalo and the daughter Arusi.
Damu arrived to the pride den, after a morning hunt.
"Itanya!" Damu yelled, running and nuzzling his mate.
"Meet your cubs, Lutalo and Arusi" she said.
Damu couldn't help but smile at this. But then he started to frown.
"Not the most intimidating names!" he barked.
"Oh, no... But promises that we'll always love them" Itanya licked her cubs once more.
"They look nothing like me!" Damu growled.
"They look nothing like me too" Itanya chuckled. "Now come and spend some time with them."
"NO!" the furious lion yelled. "You've disappointed me, Itanya!" he left the den.
Itanya was so shocked that she didn't move for half an hour. Then she broke into tears.
Jolene heard a crying lion, and came to see what was going on.
"He betrayed me!" Itanya continued crying, as Jolene tried to calm her down. "You were right!" she wept. "I should have listened to you."
Jolene began to growl. "Damu has hurt us for the last time!"
