Description
This is a black and white design, possibly applicable as a tattoo design, that a friend asked me to draw.It was inspired by [link]
I saw it, didin't like it, and challenged myself to draw a good one of a tiger.
i don't know if I like the tail, it doesn't have a front foot, and I rubbed out teh mouth a few times so it's a bit rubbed and grey.

I've always wanted an only stripes tattoo of a tiger. This one's a good layout, I'll have to admit that... simple, easily recognized...
very good. Not exactly what i'm looking for, but it's a good job!

Well, all in all, I like it I like the slender bodyline of his back. I like his stance that appears as though he's stretching out, or stalking prey, or landing from a leap, lol. I love the stripes oon his back, they're perfect. However, at your request, here's a little 'nit-picking', haha
...
Firstly, the tail. I can't look at the whole picture without noticing the somewhat squareness or triangulation of his tail. This is brought about due to the way you have drawn the stripe banding with a sharp point in the middle of each band. It creates a firm dsitinction of a line or crease in his tail, causing it to look like an edge. Now as far as I know, Tigers have round tails. Unless someone has dared go up to a Tiger with an iron in hand, to straighten his fur, then it shouldn't be like this It may look a bit dull if you simply remove the points, but it will atleast look more, 'Tigerish'.
Secondly, the face. Apart from the nose and possibly his wiskers, his face is all wrong. For one, his ears resemble more of a Lynx's ears. Especially with their sharp points. His eyes also don't look that of a fierce Tiger. If this were an oriental sketch of a Tiger, then his current eyes would suffice (if you've seen oriental artworks of Tigers, you'd know what I'm talking about ). One more thing that doesn't seem to fit is the symetrical stripe resting on his forehead like a jaggered arrow. Though, I guess that doesn't matter too much.
Thirdly, you asked me about if he should have paws or hind legs. I would prefer that you would leave him without any addons to his limbs. The way you currently have his limbs drawn is perfect. Makes it seem as though he is stalking through tall grass and weeds Plus, I feel that paws would take away the focus on the stripes on his back. Afterall, the main focus is meant to be on his stripes right?
Anyway, all in all, he looks totally awesome and I love him cause he looks so cuddly... pity he'd prolly eat me if I dared venture near him, hehe. Great job well done

...AWESOME. The figure's smooth and implied..The stripes still maintain your distinct style without taking away from the illusion of the tiger's stripes.
I think you did better on the head than most (including myself, by far) could've, but since you asked for an advanced critique: The ears are a -little- too pointed for a tiger, although, considering your style, this is fine. The sides of the face came out really well too. many would bash the whiskers, but I think they're fine. The expression, however, isn't tiger-like enough...A tiger would more-likely have a...I guess "mysterious", penetrating gaze. It just looks more mischievious than anything else. A simple tiny fix would be to tilt the eyes just a -bit- more horizontally. As for the rest, It's fine the way it is.

hmm... To make the eyes more mysterious, I could try to make it look like they're staring out... perhaps emphasise them more...
What do you think of his mouth? I settled with that to show the normal roundness of of a tiger's mouth, near the nose... And to show the teeth... the picture I had for refenece of the right angle could only see the bottom teeth, but when I did that it became too crouded to have any detail in the top-jaw too... Do you think I could have done it a different way?
And what do you think of the tail, If you don't mind my asking?
(I'll make a digital one of this sometime, so critique will be taken into account.)

The tail is flawless, I like how it's stipes almost look like they form hinges...
The face, as mentioned before, could've been done better, although I'm not quite sure how. My best advice would be to scan it in, erase just the head area on the computor, print it out an' redraw it. If you think this newer version looks better, update it. If not, chunk it and bring back the original. Sorry I can't be of more help here.
That should fix the eye problem.
