Description I drew this when I was camping one weekend, i saw the picture in National Geographic and decided to take a crack at it, not the best but it does describe how I felt at the time.

While this is indeed evocative of the title mood, I can see why you may not be as happy with it. It's a bit stiff and static compared to some of your more recent work. The horizon line and the line of his coat interfere with each other, and cuts off the feeling of dissasociation with the landscape that the off center position of the man trys to convey. I'd be interested in seeing this idea reworked with the surrealistic twist of your Conoseur or Shakespere pieces.

It gives me a feeling of sorrowness. You know, just feeling sorry that he's lonely. I know how that feels. Well, I don't mind it, but I do get too lonely. It's aight if you don't think it's the best result, but it describes the feeling of those people who are wanting for someone .

Very nicely done. Simple, but the dark figure is very effective. This piece really does convey a sense of lonliness and solitude.

Love this. (I have a thing for minimalism. )Beautiful contrast between the man and the background. Love the concept too. The shading on the sky is excellent too.

I don't know why, but I really enjoyed this piece.

It's simplicity makes it that much more interesting to me because it amazes me how such simple drawings or shadings can turn out to be such good pieces.

yeah i guess, i just want to do things more intricate, i want to do more shading and have more things going on. but in the back of my mind i still know that sometimes simplicity equals greatness.

That can be true. Some of the most famous paintings are just squares and splatters on paper (Pollock). So yes, simplicity can have its own beauty.

Hey, nice work. I would like to see more drawings like that.

Even though you don't like this picture very much, it is definitely the most appealing. Good work!

thank you very much, i'm really surprised to see how many people like this picture, to be honest i dont like it too much, its one of my older ones, its really flaturing to see that people like it though, i'll try and draw something along the lines of this again, something with emotion, not just weird characters and stuff.
