Mao. Oils.For my mixed media class we had to paint a picture of an important historical figure.
The technique was to lay down the midtones and then wipe it away with turpentine to get highlights. Very proud of myself to say I used no black.

I did Gandhi for my first painting in that class, so I decided to do someone almost the complete opposite. He's the result of many chinese deaths during his rule but at the same time encouraged the chinese to populate china faster. As a result it has also caused the gap between female and male children in china and the population control. Also, there are lots of paintings and pictures of him many places in China so I thought that I would paint my own Mao portrait.

Haha, I know so many people who got that game for Christmas.
Oils aren't too expensive, hopefully you get them sometime so I can see more paintings by you.

Well I have a lot hanging up on my walls but I wish I could scan them rather than taking pictures, but I dunno I guess I can just take pictures of them anyway.
