Description Paris - 2008
Heaven was close, now only remains its dream, hope and our arms, to bear the fallen ones...

It could be 'host'...

Secular In reply to NanooG [2009-11-22 22:54:58 +0000 UTC]

Nice Love both the songs....Wow, I haven't talked to you in a while. How's it going?

Funny you should mention Gustave Dore. I just got a book on his work two days ago. His work is amazing.

P.S. I used to be

Ah, Gustave Doré was a great artist, his works contain a lot of sensibility.

Yes, it's been a long time, I'm currently searching for a summer job, I can't find anything, it's boring.
How are you?

The detail is amazing, and the amount of contrast that he manages to create.

Pretty good. I got into Montserrat College of Art (it's near Boston) and I'll be going there starting this fall. Can't wait. I had a job photographing merchandise for a local business for a while, but I got laid off about a month ago. I haven't had much luck finding another one, but I'm thinking of trying to sell commissions and art prints. Between work and school, and still trying to find time for my art, it's been a nuts year.

I see, too bad for your job..
I'm searching for one too, impossible to find.
I wish you good luck for next year then!

I know! The economy is crap. At least where I am.... dunno if it's any better in France.

Same thing, I couldn't find a job for this summer. Only guide job, to show people round a medieval castle, but it's voluntary, we're paid with the tips of visitors. And it's only a two weeks job.

Chromeheart-XIV In reply to Secular [2009-07-03 00:27:17 +0000 UTC]

heh... medieval castle sounds nice, though. I'm trying to make a brochure to distribute, advertising my photo-retouching abilities. Maybe I can make some extra money that way, since there isn't much else to do around here.

Sure, you could do that, nevertheless I am not sure people need such a thing. Maybe so companies? But a private individual, what would he do?

Chromeheart-XIV In reply to Secular [2009-07-06 18:17:44 +0000 UTC]

A lot of people around here are into scrapbooking and memory albums, and nicer photos make the pages look better. Family photos, special occasions, etc. Ever notice how bad low light photos with flash always come out, especially of people?

Secular In reply to Chromeheart-XIV [2009-07-07 08:11:14 +0000 UTC]

But people can improve their photos themselves... That's what my dad does, even if is not a specialist of photomanipulation, it's a very easy thing to do, I'm not sure you'll find people who don't do that by themselves...

Chromeheart-XIV In reply to Secular [2009-07-07 18:45:03 +0000 UTC]

Some do, but the stereotype about most Americans being lazy is very true. XD And a lot of the people who do those things are working moms who don't have a lot of time to mess around with their photos. People around here usually just order prints the way they are.

Oh really?
So you may have a chance to find some work ^^
Good luck then, now you must find the clients!

I sure hope so, or else I'm going to be flat broke in college. Also prints here on dA, eventually.

Thanks and good luck to you, too, with the job hunting.

...the passage from the one to the other can be a little bit violent... ... a little bit?
Anyway, I really really love Arcana, and the pic looks very mysterious. Finally we got it! But why you were so unsure about the version?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Secular In reply to Cunegonda [2009-05-22 19:44:26 +0000 UTC]

Because I made a lot of versions with different lights/shades/their intensity, and these changed so much the final result you know..
