that is the scaring and "tattooing" left from the injuries i got when i laid my bike down a few years ago. The dark spot is actual road grit that that was embedded in the skin as it healed.

no it is just a bit numb around my knee cap. i never remove it from my photos but people just don't seem to notice it or the one on my hand and arm
