Love this scene. Captain Morrick gives the crew the dressdown they deserve, but proves his own loyalty to them, even if they dont deserve it.

Β This was an amazing artwork by s2kaΒ for a great story;Β they really deserved the reaming they got from Captain Merrick and their actions speak for themselves they are not a good crew.Β I really loved the paragraph that started with "Being the brightest doesn't necessarily mean being the best." What a great speech but sad to say true thatΒ the words that Captain Morrick's speaks are true. Once you give up on trust, you can't get it back again.Β Β Will we see a separate photo ofΒ Captain Jason MorrickΒ similar toΒ Chief Petty Officer Laurence Tolliver Β and/orΒ Lieutenant Mothaya Lorn (In exercise suit) .Β Β

Yes, the story's well done, but β¦ well, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I can't help but find it very distressing. I remember when the original "Star Trek" hit the airwaves more than 50 years ago. I wanted to be like Mr. Spock. I adored UhuraΒ --- and still do! -- wanted to work in Engineering with Scotty and liked his pride in being Scottish. I'm heavily part Scottish. Sulu and Chekov were and still are always fun. What happens here... not the rape of Kirk, but his crew's reaction to it... runs counter to how I feel about these characters and my interpretation of how they would behave in such a situation. Β
I'm not a "trekkie" who feels there is only one way to do Trek, and you've certainly created a rich and interesting story line with Kirk's life on the Saratoga and his new relationships, but I find myself wanting to tell off Starfleet.Β Β

I guess one way to look at it is that when the TOS characters met Kirk they were older and more seasoned.
And also even one's favorite characters are still human and make mistakes.
