The Year 590 of the 6th Age (Earth Year 2014)
Boarding Port of the Silvenyo
Norayis System
After weeks of comm communication, the captains of the Silvenyo and the Korissa finally meet face to face. This is is the historic First Contact between the Nlians (L) and the Tkarites (R)

BACKGROUND
The Nlians invented warp drive in 2010. Not long afterward they came up with an incredible breakthrough which enabled them to reach warp 2. Excitement was rampant at the prospect of visiting other stars and the Nlians eagerly prepared for their first Interstellar flight. Their planned destination was the Norayis System , their closest stellar neighbor, located four light years away.
A warp 2 engine was fitted onto their most advanced ship, the Silvenyo It carried a twelve member crew of Nlia’s finest scientists, engineers and pilots. Three of the crewmembers' lifemates accompanied them, bringing the total number up to 15. Ro'car was chosen to command the mission. He declared that they would "Go forth boldly, but also humbly."

HISTORIC LAUNCH
The Silvenyo was launched in 2014 and arrived at the Noryais System after a journey of six months. The crew was in the process of exploring the system when they were stunned to detect a signal approaching. They hurried toward it and encountered another vessel, the Korissa
The Tkarites had been warp capable for nearly 60 years (1956). They had explored systems in a ‘southern’ direction from their homeworld but this was the first time they had ventured ‘north’.
Years earlier the Tkarites had made contact with another species, the C'tekians, but this was the Nlians First Contact with another species.
The ‘Children of the Sands’ had met the ‘People of the Blade.’
The two ships stayed together for three months, learning each other's languages and ways. Although both species couldn’t have been more different, a friendship still formed.

Already did. In all honesty, I’ve thought about commissioning artists to draw certain scenes and use them as covers for each chapter, but I feel like that would be copying you.

I know that Ro'car is cautious.
Even when they're friendly there's never any doubt that Tkarites are predators.
When the Tkarites first encountered the Nlians' ship they could tell just from the fact
that they had no offensive weapons that they were NOT predators.
I know the Tkarites are very curious. After their contact with the C'tekians, the Nlians
are the first species they've met that are more similar to them in appearance.
At the same time it quickly becomes obvious that the Nlians are very different in personality.
Tkarites are sharp and cunning while Nlians are open and gentle.
Tkarites are sensual and seductive while Nlians save themselves for their lifemates.
Among Tkarites touch is usually seen as an invitation to share physical pleasure.
Nlians are a very affectionate and touch oriented people.
Among Tkarites monogamy is virtually unheard of.
Among Nlians disruption of a Mating bond can be fatal.
Tkarites often find the Nlians' more innocent ways quite charming.
At the same time they respect them because they can tell that although the Nlians are a gentle race, they're not weak
