Superb! Beautiful story and history, I love it.Β
I didΒ notice two paragraphs that contain the same basic info:
I deliberately designed the vessel to be small (180 m). Small vessels take less time to buildΒ and require less manpower,Β
but a lot of them can cover as much territory as larger ships. Although Starfleet had reservations about a ship so small,Β
the project went forward.Β
My team came up with many concepts and designs.Β I definitely wanted the vessel to be small Β (Beneath 200 m).Β

As someone whoβs loved dolphins since I saw Free Willy when I was a kid, I can sympathize.

Yeah, for awhile, I didnβt know that either. It was Flipper and Ecco that got me interested in bottlenose dolphins.

I've actually thought of developing an Orca class ship someday.
A larger and slightly fiercer cousin of the Delphis!
