Description
Deidara found out where the weird ringing came from at about 2 pm.It was a small mobile concealed in one of his danna’s hand luggage bags. He stared at it for a moment, wondering whether he should even pick it up when it next rang, if it did ring again anyway. It was invading the redhead’s privacy quite a lot...but he didn’t think he could stand the sound of it ringing again.
“ARGH!” The sculptor yelled when it rang for the fifth time. “All right already, un!” He snatched the phone and looked on the screen. It was a text from some guy called Kabuto. Deidara pondered over whether he should open or not.
Who was this mystery Kabuto guy...? What if he was some sort of...accomplice of the redhead. Or a friend? But the only friend Deidara knew that Sasori has is Percy, who he still maintained contact with after Sasori had tried to steal his car.
But this guy wasn’t Percy, obviously stated by his name. Deidara began to get a little jealous. Did Sasori keep this guy away form Deidara’s attention on purpose?! Maybe a secret or something!
Okay, now he really had to find out what was in this mysterious text, whether it was breaking every foundation of trust ever written.
Sasori, I have left you very important voice mail. Please listen.
Kabuto.
Okay. That answered a lot of questions. Not.
The blond knew he was being are sarcastic bugger; but it was very aggravating to find himself asking more questions then when hadn’t read the message. Who the heck was this Kabuto guy? And...what was so important about this message that couldn’t be written down in a text?
Deidara shook his head, which was already spinning wildly with thoughts and questions. Some air might help me think, the blond mused. He stepped onto the balcony, shivering at the sudden burst of cold air. He still had the phone in his hand.
The damn thing was giving the blond artist such a mental headache that eh wanted to just chuck it off the balcony. But then he would never get to know the message- and come to think of it, neither would his boyfriend. Boy, this phone-and with that the message- being destroyed would surely piss him off, so better not lug it off the balcony.
He watched the people beneath him for a while. He wasn’t that far up, being on the second floor of the hotel, but there was still some distance between him and the ground. Moments later the blond spotted the scarlet haired head belonging to Sasori. The blond pocketed the mobile out of sight, and yelled into the small street crowd below.
“Sasori-danna!”
Sasori looked up, a little startled. Ah, the blond was calling him. So he had reached the hotel all ready, then. All the better, as it was too cold and he wanted t create as much distance possible between him and crazy name-less fan-girl.
“Hey.” Sasori called upwards. “Sorry for locking you in.”
The blond just pulled an evil face. “Yeah, you’ll be sorry, un.” He joked.
A girl was watching the two Japanese boys exchange conversation out of view. She boiled with rage; how dare he already seem to have some sort of partner! The girl had got it into her majorly twisted head that Sasori and she should be together, instead of him and this blond hussy.
She didn’t know that the blond was guy too; otherwise she would have probably broken into tears there and then.
The blond also made a...threat?! Well, “you’ll be sorry” sounded like a threat to the French woman. Of course, she was oblivious to the fact that Deidara was only joking. But try telling her that.
I got to help Sasori! She thought wildly. His blond is going to make him sorry for locking him in, so obviously he’s going to hurt him in some way! Maybe the blond is vicious and needed to be locked up!
Sasori paused in walking just a small distance away form the hotel. “Ah...But I have the keys, see?” He shouted up to Deidara, waving the keys slightly in the air. “You need me to get out of there.”
Ah-hah! This was the girl’s chance! She could swipe the key from Sasori so then he couldn’t get to the vicious blond’s room. The girl broke into a run and, just before she looked as though she would collide with the red-haired artist, she grabbed the keys out of his hand and turned violently in the other direction, still running, and in possession of the keys.
“What the hell?!” Sasori yelled, as he felt the keys being grabbed out of his hand. At first he was too stunned to even think, but an angry glance in the direction of the thief swapped his current emotion from stunned to anger.
It’s that bloody stalker! She had really done it this time! Sasori was so angry that this woman had the nerve to come back and haunt him, that he was about to chase her. Alas, he remembered the blond. He turned his view upwards to see that the blond looked horrified and lost for words. He had clearly seen the theft.
Oh no...oh no, no no...Sasori had a sudden awful thought. With the keys stolen...how the hell would Deidara get out of the hotel room?! Okay, it wasn’t really like the redhead to panic, but...Deidara had already been locked in despite his objections. Sasori didn’t want to be the one to tell him that he would be locked in for an even further time. Unfortunately, he would most likely have to tell him.
“Damn it!” Sasori yelled, just as he noticed a handful of people rushing over to him, and a crowd running quickly in the direction of the stalker woman, yelling “Voleur! Voleur!”
He didn’t know what ‘voleur’ meant through French lessons, but with how the civilians reacted it looked as if it meant something along the lines of ‘thief’.
As Sasori was bombarded by civilians, Deidara watched in horror as the woman ran out of his sight, Damn that bitch! He had no idea who she was, or why she even took their keys, but she was going to pay. Her having the keys meant that he was stuck in the room...for even more time. Deidara actually growled with hate for this woman, who he had only caught a glimpse of.
He was very thankful for the random French people who were chasing after the stealing girl, but he really wanted to chase after her himself. Maybe he could, jump off the balcony and just run down the street, he thought sarcastically.
...although...it wasn’t that far down.
“Danna!” He bellowed, trying to get the redhead’s much needed attention. “Sasori!”
Sasori spent much time remembering how to say the numbers needed for the police in French. He told them to one of the people that surrounded him. The girl had not only stolen his keys, but maybe she would become some sort of stalker. He really didn’t want that to happen.
Huh....? The puppeteer looked upwards. Deidara was shouting him again, it seemed.
“What is it?” The redhead replied, breaking away from the small crowd surrounding him.
Deidara heaved his weight up on his arms, and lifted himself on the balcony, so he was knelt down on the wall, his hands holding firmly onto it. He had to say...the balcony wall did seem thinner now he was balanced on it.
“Get me something...err, soft to land on, un!”
...You’ve got to be shitting me. That was the first thought that came into the redhead’s mind when he saw Deidara heave himself up onto the balcony. Coarse language for a coarse situation.
“Deidara you fool, get down form there!” Sasori shouted. How on earth was the blond going to manage jumping off the balcony?!His only chance of success was if he was miraculously part cat and always landed on his feet---but from Sasori’s reasoning, he didn’t see the blond landing on the ground on his feet; more like a Deidara splat on the pavement.
What? Get him something soft? How was Sasori supposed to do that? There wasn’t a single soft thing around, unless you counted the fluffy poodle walking past, but that would be just plain cruelty.
“Deidara!” Sasori watched in fright as he saw the blond shift his position a little more. “Honestly, don’t jump!”
A couple of spectators were now gathered round underneath the artistic duo’s balcony, watching in dismay at what the young sculptor was doing. One of them guessed what Sasori was looking for as he darted around for something soft. He didn’t want to, but unless he got some sort of soft thing Deidara would probably go splat, and he would prefer to have a whole boyfriend, rather than just a corpse on a roadside.
A tallish and burly man offered to give his large coat, but the redhead didn’t think it was strong enough. However...the man was strong enough surely. He began explaining to the bulky man what he wanted to happen.
A couple of streets away, the young girl was cackling manically to herself, pleased with what she had accomplished.
Crap, the blond thought as he nervously teetered on the edge of the balcony. This didn’t look good... He bit his lip, knowing that he should have just waited for the police or whoever to recover the keys instead of taking matter into his own hands. Oh well, he had done it now.
In the end, it was a pigeon that made him topple. The bird had seen Deidara on the balcony and wished to join him. Unfortunately, it landed on his hands, the one thing keeping his balance on the wall.
“Stupid pigeon!” He shouted as he fell, the wind swallowing up all sound as it roared past Deidara, whipping his hair into his face and gravity pulling him close to the earth. Thoughts whipped around in his head for the one second the he was falling; Oh god, he was going to die---his gravestone would read death by pigeon and he was going to be all mashed up on the pavement and---The blond felt arms catch him suddenly and very uncomfortably, grab and pull him down to earth with a minor bump.
It was when the air stopped screaming in his ears and there was no more wind that Deidara realised he was on the ground. On the ground, just not as a pancake. Although, as he was in France, he should probably rephrase that as just not as a crepe.
And it was when a certain voice whispered “fool.” In his ear that Deidara realised who caught him.
Although it was only until later, when Sasori was explaining his plan to him, which the blond figured out how he was still alive.
“I got the well built person to hold me in place as I caught you.” He paused to sigh. “He absorbed the impact, I assume.”
Deidara just nodded, too stupefied to string together words. The two teens were alone, finally, sitting in a cafe just across the road from the hotel, warming themselves in the French winter by having a hot drink. Not that many other were in the cafe at the moment, so they had seclusion.
“...I’m sorry about jumping, danna, un.” Deidara said delicately. Sasori didn’t smile, but his eyes remained soft. He took a long sip of his drink before replying with a simple; “Yeah...”
“Who was that girl, danna?” the blond asked, still confused as to why she took heir keys. “And why did she steal the keys, un?”
“...that’s my fault. She was at the Louvre, looking at my artwork and then when I left, she must have followed me.” He told his boyfriend the rest of what happened.
“So...do you think she wanted the keys so she could seriously stalk you, un?” The sculptor asked.
“That’s not impossible. But, I’m not really bothered about that idiot girl.” Sasori muttered. He looked worn out with jet-lag. “Although I would rather put up with double physics with Itachi then face her again.”
Deidara grinned wryly. He leaned over the table and gave Sasori the lightest most subtle kiss imaginable. Sasori had to trace his lip slightly afterwards, as it was so light he wondered if it had really been there. The blond was going to kiss his boyfriend again, but Sasori decided to be the victor of this little game of seeing who could kiss the other again quickest.
As there lips met, Sasori ran his fingers, slowly, through a little cluster of his partner’s hair. Deidara placed his finger-tips on the red haired teen’s cheek, and they kissed until they both needed their drinks.
It might be worth mentioning they were a little pink faced, too.
Deidara smiled when he noticed his boyfriend’s flushed face. He was about to pick up his cup up, when he felt the phone in his pocket move as his arm did. Oh...the phone.
“Bathroom, un.” Deidara said, making an excuse for some privacy. He was about to go into the gents toilets when he thought that wouldn’t be private enough. He opted for the disabled toilets, trying not to let that build on his conscience.
The sculptor stared at the phone, remembering the message clearly.
He thought, yet again, about why this Kabuto would want the message so safe. What could it possibly be about, a nuclear war head about to go off? Yeah, really likely.
It’s not as if the red-head would have his phone pinched and then some stranger would read the message....oh.
Deidara slapped his hand to his face in the irony of it. Here he was, complaining that Kabuto was too paranoid about this ‘important’ message falling into the wrong hands...when he, himself, wasn’t the guy who was supposed to read it! He, like every other person in the world other than Sasori, wasn’t supposed to know what Kabuto wanted to tell Sasori.
That’s why the impulse to hear the message was too arduous to ignore.
Even though the cafe toilets weren’t the most...fitting place to receive a secret message. Bah, who cares? Deidara pressed record to listen to Kabuto all-so-important information.
‘Sasori, I can’t waste time as this is very valuable to your objective. The final gang member is named Okahito Mustu.
His whereabouts are currently unknown, but I found out that he will be staying in Goshogawara to rendezvous with one of his accomplices, on 7th of February. I found the location of the meet, and it’s the arms dealers at...”
He trailed the address. Then followed some more information, the name of who he was meeting, time, ect. “The objective of the meet is for Mutsu to receive ammunition. This is the best time for you to kill him, although you might have to deal with the guy’s he’s meeting. Good luck.”
The message clicked into nothingness.
If Deidara had thought that little bit more, perhaps he would have come to the conclusion that the message was bout the gang members. But the blond hadn’t thought of that beforehand.
However, Kabuto’s over protectiveness made sense now. Obviously, he wouldn’t want anybody to know that Sasori was planning on murdering this guy. If it was found, this would be enough evidence to land Sasori in life imprisonment for jail.
Deidara still had the phone pressed up against his ear. He was in too much shock to think about moving it. Thank god nobody else had come into the bathroom. They would think he was some nutter.
Clearly, this was how Sasori knew where his targets were. Kabuto sent him the info, and the redhead just used it to his advantage. Deidara’s thoughts were so unclear for a few minutes. He knew Sasori had killed so many times before...but it was dangerous. So, so dangerous.
And like a concerned partner would feel, the blond really didn’t want him to go after this guy.
It was only a matter of time before Sasori decided to check whether he had received any more messages form Kabuto. When that time came, he would see the text and hear the voice mail and start preparing to his actions against Mutsu.
This was silence in the toilets and in the blond’s mind
“...But what if he didn’t?” Deidara mused out-loud, shattering the calm.
He surprised himself with that thought, but all that saying...It started to build on him. Over and over again, the blond asked himself that every question.
...what would happen if Sasori never received the message? It was simple. No message, no chance to go after the last gang member, and most importantly, no chance for Sasori to get hurt. All the blond had to do was delete the verve changing message.
But as his thumb hovered just above the delete button...he had an epiphany. This was one of the lowest things she could do as a boyfriend. Destroying something meant for the redhead was surely frowned upon, right? Plus...Sasori’s whole ambition for killing these gang members was because they took his parents away from him. And if the message got deleted...Sasori wouldn’t ever be able to avenge his parents completely.
“ARGH! This stupid thing, un!” the thoughts in Deidara’s head were too much for him to bear, so he took his emotion out on the phone. He slammed it against the wall. Poor phone.
“...Dude...the toilets aren’t the place for anger management. There for shedding toxins, man...” A drowsy man muttered from outside the door.
Oh bloody hell... a toilet rights hippie, Deidara thought. He would forsake his privacy for thoughts as the prospect of the guy waiting for him outside was a little creepy. Deidara unlocked the door and came to see a dreadlocked guy in a wheelchair.
“Are you disabled, man...?” The guy asked.
“Err...yeah, look, un.” Deidara quickly outstretched his palms, putting his hand-mouths on view and then slipped away, just catching the guy saying “...Freaky hands...” Before he dissapeared into the disabled toilets.
“Sorry about that, un.” Deidara muttered when he reached his danna at the table. He was a little disheartened, what with knowing what he did about the gangster. Maybe talking to his danna would cheer him up a little.
Sasori just raised his eyebrows at the blond’s noticeable shift in temperament. He seemed a little...sad? Or maybe it was just his illness.
“Are you still feeling ill?”
“A bit, un.” Deidara mumbled.
Sasori didn’t know what do exactly...but when he was about to reach for his leg, he heard a carrier bad crinkle under the table. Ah! The gift he had purchased at the Louvre---now would be as good time to give it to the sculptor as ever, right? He reached under the table and pulled it out, gently nudging his boyfriend.
“Err...here.” Sasori muttered. He couldn’t remember ever giving the blond a gift before.
“un?” Deidara looked round, his eyes suddenly lighting up. “Oh!”
Deidara opened the bag to reveal a minuscule bird, a sculpture made of glass and a dark colour. It was so tiny it could fit easily in Deidara’s palm and not be in danger of being swallowed.
“It’s gorgeous, un!” Deidara remarked, all the bad niggling feelings washed away with this little gift. He started describing how awesome it was and how it was a true reflection of art-blah, blah. Sasori switched off halfway through to the exited babble. Still, it did what it was planned too right?
Sasori eyes blinked in tiredness as he suppressed a yawn, clearly being so tired with jet lag. He didn’t notice that his boyfriend had finished talking and was now staring at him.
The blond viewed his boyfriend with a fervent expression. The young man looked drained with jet lag- although that didn’t tarnish his attractive composition. Deidara bit his lip, fighting the impossible urge to lean over the table and kiss the face off his danna. There was a lot more people in the cafe than there first had been when they were kissing earlier.
The sculptor thought back to other times he had felt this much fro the other man; all that emotion. There was no use, public as this place was, he couldn’t ignore that scorching passion he felt. Deidara soon realised he must have been staring for a few moments at lest, as the redhead notified the sculptor’s inability to look away.
“What is it?” He said frankly.
Deidara could ward of his urge no more; he grabbed Sasori by the back of his head, suddenly entwining his fingers in ragged crimson hair. He kissed the other teen with such ardour submerged form the little affectionate gift his boyfriend had given him.
Sasori was more than startled at what his partner did, but really didn’t want to break the kiss. He was amazed with where this sudden kiss came from...but then how could he talk. He was sure he had kissed the blond on impulse before on different occasions. Both boys closed there eyes in contentment.
It was only until scarlet eyes spotted something across the cafe. A small child was watching them, his mouth hanging open so much his jaw looked borderline dislodged.
Sasori was about close his eyes again when his eyes spotted something else. Moreover...someone else.
“YOU!” He shouted, after abruptly breaking his kiss with the blond. Sasori’s angry yell was directed at the woman sitting at a table for one, dressed in purple. On her table was something shiny, no doubt the keys to suite 2B at D’hôtel. It was the stalker woman.
Deidara gave the redhead a look before turning to face the person he had recognised, wondering who on earth---oh. It was that bitch. Deidara boiled with so much rage he thought that it matched the redhead’s anger.
“Who me?” She said far too innocently.
“Yes you.” Sasori was having trouble keeping his voice even. He marched up to the table she was at, Deidara quickly following. “I don’t know if you’re dense head has the capacity to remember this, but just an hour ago you followed me like a stray dog. And even earlier than that, you stole our keys.”
She smiled “...And?” her eyes shone as she looked at Sasori.
“And?!” Deidara repeated in fury. “What do you mean, ‘and’ un?!” The woman’s expression changed so much for a look of adulation, which she directed at Sasori, to a look of disgust which she directed unto Deidara. No surprises there, then.
“Because of you I fell off a balcony!” The woman just looked quite happy at this piece of information.
“...Oh really?” She said.
“You...bitch, un!” This was the one time in Deidara’s life where he ever wanted to punch a girl.
Sasori watched as the woman and Deidara lock eyes with each other, clearly wanting to rip out the other’s spleen. He glanced around and a couple of people were watching them, hoping for some juicy controversy. Probably. “Maybe we should take this outside...”
“No way.” The woman said simply. “I don’t want your bitch let loose on me, thank you very much.”
Sasori wanted to face palm. According to this woman, Deidara was his ‘bitch’.
Hey...it was true. Just a little more bluntly said than Sasori would’ve wanted it.
However, Sasori’s reaction wasn’t a patch on Deidara’s. His eyes narrowed and he banged his hands suddenly on the table.
“I’m no bitch, un.” His face was close to the woman’s and he so wanted to slap that smug little expression. This scuffle with the stalker girl made him completely forget about the gang member. For the time being, anyhow.
“Sasori...I would’ve thought you would have had better taste. Your girl-friend seems highly strung.”
There was a pause. And then the cafe’s atmosphere was lightened with the redhead’s and the blond’s burst of laughter.
“...Danna, she doesn’t know, un!” Deidara said in between laughs.
“What’s so funny?!” The woman screeched.
“The guy your stalking, and most likely hope to marry and have lots of babies, un...is none other than otherwise occupied with the opposed gender and is effeminate, un.”
Her face stayed exactly the same. Deidara just looked smug. Sasori was chuckling. The cafe occupants were waiting on baited breath.
“He’s gay, bitch.”
For all his troubles of explaining it to the shocked, angered and distraught psychopathic, Deidara got slapped in the face. His face was jerked sideways and many people let out a gasp.
“Liar! He’s not gay! And...And he is meant for me!” She screeched.
“Look maybe you should go outside...” The cafe owner said in French, as too which somebody else responded “What? And miss this drama? You have to be crazy.” The owner replied with a “Fair point.” And watched like everyone else.
“What was that for, un?!” Deidara yelled, regaining what ever composure he had after being slapped. “I was only saying the truth!”
“ARGH!” The woman yelled “Fine! He may be gay when he’s with YOU, you hermaphrodite! But I’ll turn him straight, you’ll see!” She whipped around sending an angry around the cafe. “You’ll all see!”
“No way.” The voice belonged to Sasori. “That won’t happen I assure you.”
The girl let out the most vicious cry and took her anger out on Deidara. She pulled a chunk of his blond locks so violently that he yelled and slapped her because of it.
As the commotion broke off, the somewhat less sympathetic occupants started yelling “Fight! Fight! Fight!” While other tried to break up the scuffle. Sasori hauled the blond backwards by the waist, as he was yelling “Let me at her, un!”
The girl was panting and still looked like she wanted to murder Deidara on the spot. If only she had knife.
“Look, I have no idea just why you are so obsessed with me, but this has to freaking stop!” Sasori yelled. “You can’t just stalk me and abuse my boyfriend right in front of me!”
He was still holding Deidara tightly, to prevent him form landing himself in trouble by attacking the woman.
She snarled and broke free of her captor, aiming a punch for Deidara but, much to her obvious dismay, she caught Sasori on the cheek. That was the final blow of there fight; as Sasori then decided to trip her up, which was followed by Deidara sitting on top of her to hold her down.
“Comfy, un?” He said unmercifully.
The police were eventually called and escorted the woman out of the room. As Sasori and Deidara sat there in the cafe with frozen bags of vegetable on their injuries, they wished that this would be the last time they ever saw this psychotic woman.
“Danna...”
“...yeah?”
“I want to go back to Japan, un.”
