to put it simple you have to draw a design and sell it with the price you think its for

That's really it? Because that was kind of what I thought it was at first, but then people get to bidding and saying "you can edit x, y, and z" and I got confused. I guess everyone does it different, then?

if i may try to clear this up-- o/
some adoptable sellers choose to sell through auctions, hence the bidding! it's just another way of selling them besides using a set price
and when the seller says "you may edit the design", it's just that; once purchased, the buyer may edit the adoptable's design (albeit they're minor changes and the original design of the adoptable is still recognizable)
