Description
I finally had the time to create an "Age list" of all the characters. I know that it is not canon, but I think it does make sense.Approval, suggestions or your own personal opinion about the age of the characters is obviously desirable ^.^

I'd imagine that RD and Fluttershy would be the same age though, because they were in Flight Camp together. That may not be a strong thing to go off of, but meh. I also had the headcanon that Pinkie was 18, being the youngest of the 6.
Kinda weird to think of Derpy as 25 though. That is very plausible, but it doesn't seem right to me XD.
Cranky and Matilda I'd imagine in their 60's-70's.
Everything else though is very spot on as to what I'd imagine before

I'd rather think that Fluttershy is a bit older than RD.Β At least she looked a little older. So the maximum one year is the difference between the two, but meh.

Maybe she's 8 months older? That way they can be in the same age group and attend Flight Camp together (assuming they have an age group system like schools).Β

8-12 months make no big difference imo, but I think the difference isΒ Β approximatelyΒ between this time.

As for granny smith they talk about how she discovered ponyville, but in winter wrap up Twilight says the earth ponies have been cleaning up winter IN PONYVILLE for hundreds of years... So is granny smith hundreds of years old or was that a mistake in the writing?
Also I tend to think of Applejack and Rarity being the oldest. I guess because they are both in charge of their livelihood. Applejack owns the farm and Rarity owns her boutique. Even at 21 that's doing pretty well to own your very own store. I would even be surprised if they were a little older.
Also I think of rainbow dash as much younger, because in her flashback with fluttershy, fluttershy looked to be at least two years older than RD, and she's not in the wonderbolts. I mean RD has pretty well proven numerous times that she is the best flyer, but she only recently got accepted into the academy. I was thinking it was because she was too young to apply until then. So I wouldn't be surprised it she started the show at 17 and it now 18

The thing that Rarity and AJ maybe are the two oldest definitely makes sense. However, I can rather imagine that Rarity is the oldest, since she already has her own shop and the farm (of the Applefamily) is family owned. (the farm was probably very early bequeathed to AJ and Big Mac).
In the case of RD, I do not think that she was not accepted because she was "too young". After all, she has her own house and works at the weather patrol.
I think that the Mane6 are all together at the end of the teenages are (but rather at the beginning of young adulthood). After all they live independently in their own apartments or houses and all have a job to do.

RD I hadn't thought of her house. It still begs the question why was the academy episode not until season three, but I see your point and it the academy may have nothing to do with age.
Don't base too much on that fact that they live alone. I mean Pinkie pie probably rents that loft from the cakes, I moved into my own apartment at 17, soon to be 18. That may even be a point to consider Twilight younger because she's in "college" and lives in what we may consider dorm like arrangements. However I personally feel like she would be getting her "masters" or "phd" even since she's on her own with her own assignment. So the whole mane6 might even be older then what we're thinking. Average age for getting a masters is 22-23. I personally think Rarity could be older since she does seem to own her own shop. Maybe 25?
These are all just suggestions, my boyfriend and I talk about it a lot, and we can never quite figure out how older they are supposed be. There are so many conflicting elements. But as for early adulthood, I personally feel like maybe up to 25? maybe below 30? I mean these women are obviously paying bills and owning houses and what not so what constitutes adulthood then? Marriage and a baby maybe? A chosen career? I'm not sure personally, but I don't think you have to confine it to the abstract notion of "early adulthood".

We have almost exactly the same opinion in this case, however, there are just a few things that should be considered.
Lauren Faust wrote, for example: "They are young adults, but with a maturity level of anywhere from 12 - 18 ..
so ... they grow up fast, but mature slower ....? "
So I think that they are just between 16 <- 20 <
However, I do not think any of the Mane6 is older than 25 ', so yeah
only imo ...

Also, I thought Rarity and Cheerilee were about the same age, since Rarity made the costumes for Cheerilee's play when they were fillies. I'm not sure though

I already thought about that, unfortunately I did not have age for both, which is consistent with both the history and the facts. Suggestions here are of course also welcome (would be nice, if you can help me with that)

I mean, I could totally see Cheerilee being 29, and Rarity being 21-20
But, that would make it impossible for both of them to be fillies at the same time...
